I used to want it all
And that's money money
That's money money
That's money money
Watching human fall
And that's only money
That's money money
That's money money
That's no way to serve
No way to serve
No way to serve nobody
There's no benefit
There is no benefit
No way to benefit somebody
That's not any sense
No innocence
No way no way they sex, no way no
That's no way to serve
That ain't no way to serve
Working for it all
But it's money money
It's money money
It's money money
Watching human fall
But it's only money
That's money money
That's money money
You can walk the street
And it's money money
It's money money
It's money money
Catch the fantasy
Cause it's money money
That's money money
That's money money
No checks, no loan, no rent to pay
It's gone today
How to accumulate
There's not any sense
There is no innocence
There is money commerce no baby
It's all an expense
The way the pans are set
The way the weather burned nobody
It's just all expense
No way the world accepts
There is no innocence, no baby
That's no way to hurt
That ain't no way, no sir
Catch a fantasy
Cause it's money money
That's money money
That's money money
Catch her and degree
And that's money money
That's money money
That's money money
Working for it all
But it's only money
That's money money
That's money money
Watching how we fall
Cause that's easy money
That's easy money
That's easy money
No spend no sum no lays no claims
And there's no pain to play
No free fortune so let's just slave
No rainy day better come this way
Working for it all
But it's money money
That's money money
That's money money
Watching human fall
And that's only money
That's easy money
That's easy money
C'mon come buy the tea
And it's money money
That's money money
Catch a fantasy
'Cause it's money money
That's easy money
That's easy money

I've always loved the way Johnny Marr plays guitar. There is no one else quite like him! In this song, with that distinctive style and quirky rhythms, I can really hear how his sound was so darn essential to the way that early Modest Mouse caught my ears like it did...

Yeah, this one.
Johnny Marr: genius, guitar god and all-round ace bloke!
man, i love this!
Every album Johnny has made is brilliant start to finish… he has the magic
I like how you can tell that it's Johnny Marr about 1.5 seconds in.
Had the pleasure of seeing him open for The Killers last Fall. Hasn't missed a beat!

Exactly! Is this the greatest song ever? Of course not. But when it comes on in the middle of my work day I'm always excited, and it always peps me up.

I Agree, completely!  Chair dancing time!  Maybe not the best, but DAMN GREAT!!

This track has caught my attention every time I've heard it played.  That says something to me...when music tickles your brain and makes it sit up and pay attention.
JOHNNY F...... MARR

I'm just curious as to why you cant respect someone's opinion and let it be just that without having to tell them to go listen elsewhere lol...
Chair dancing time!!
Was noticing some similarities between this and Hard Fi "Living For The Weekend".

Actually 76 times! ..Still, a great tune!!
Excellent!

This song was in near-constant rotation overhead at my gym for months. I thought it was Arctic Monkeys for a long time.

Not your best, Johnny, let's face it.
A bit pop-ie, no real depth, but pleasant enough I guess

Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones. Many say it's the best Rock n Roll track ever.
Tony Jory. London, England.

Music is subjective. Get used to it.
Love this, bouncing in my chair. Great way to get through the afternoon slog.
I had the good fortune to see Johnny Marr when he toured with Modest Mouse. He was a class act in addition to playing excellent guitar. Thanks to his playing, it was the best Modest Mouse concert I've seen. Thank you sir.
Wasn't crazy about this the first time I heard it, but it's definitely growing on me.

It's got a decent hook, there are definitely plenty of signature Johnny Marr flourishes, and it's just kind of fun to bop to. Music doesn't always have to take itself so seriously to be enjoyable or, dare I say, good.
Kinda makes me wonder if Johnny is itching to get back in the studio with Bernard and put out another Electronic album.
Saw him a few years ago at National University of Singapore. Was average gig (which he did this track) but things went up a level when he started playing some old Smiths tracks. He still a pretty good guitar player.
WTF was that? Redundant sub-pop. (yeh, I just made that word up but, you get it).
Must be royalty free (I hope).
Finding it quite enjoyable on this second or third listen, turned up nice and loud in the living room.

Haha @AliGator I do the same thing, with lots of names {#Laughing}
I really dig this tune, but every time I see the words "Johnny Marr" I say "J'en ai marre" ("I'm fed up" in English) because I can't help it. They're not even pronounced the same. {#Shifty}
Compose two or three bars.
Write some sing along lyrics.
Record.
Repeat.

i hate to say it, but i think if you took johnny's vocals out and replaced them with alex turner's, it'd be arctic monkeys.

Agreed completely!
I like Johnny Marr and his body of work..... but this song isn't worthy of the RP playlist.

I like it.

It's got a good beat - you can dance to it…..
I'm usually a big fan of Johnny Marr, not a big fan of this one.

Listenable... :-)
Well Damn, that's excellent. Much respect to Mr Marr

Ha, you got that right — {#Cheesygrin}
Ok - we get it it's Easy Money. We heard you the first time. No need to repeat endlessly.

maybe he's just covering his bases.

Johnny Marr ! The good friend of Morrissey...

Marr and Morrissey was the perfect Harmony !

Thanks Radio paradise for these enjoyed moments...

Johnny's back!
What would it have taken to put some decent cover art together?
Johnny Marr lost the plot sometime around the late 80s...
And there was I, imagining Morrissey had not grown old gracefully, but by comparison with this, he's still thumping out cutting-edge, thought-provoking tunes. This song just annoyed.
Johnny Marr has all the cred he could have for "How Soon Is Now?" - and this song is not too far off that high water mark.
That was a good little pick me up in the middle of the afternoon slog. Thanks, Bill!

Boorrrringggggg  zzzzzz
It's interesting that it took 30 years for him to start putting out solo LP's.  Sure, he played with The The, and The Pretenders, and Modest Mouse, etc.  But he was arguably the best -- absolutely one of the best -- songwriters of the 80's -- to "disappear" for so long, whist Morrissy went on to greater fame & fortune w/out The Smiths...

Anyways, good stuff from Marr these days...   unfortuneately not amzing stuff...  but good stuff nonetheless.  and he just looks so fucking cool, how can you go wrong.
Like it.
That was pretty damn groovy.
Caught my attention!
Damn good rock!
