Tell me what did the blackbird say to the crow?
Dry your eyes don't you cry, ain't gonna rain no more
Men on the levee, dry wheat in the field
Pretty soon hear the tune of the threshing wheel

Tell me what did the moonlight ask the willow tree?
Tell me who is more blue is it you or me?
We've been together since I don't know when
And the best part's where one starts and the other ends

You and me are always gonna be howdy howdy
You and me always walk that lonesome valley
You and me are always gonna be howdy howdy

Tell me what did the riddle say to the song?
The Devil he's blowing reveille and we ain't got long
Let's play the Spider Bit The Baby-O
Last time, last rhyme, one more for the road
One more for the road

You and me are always gonna be howdy howdy
You and me always walk that lonesome valley

Do not miss this tour if you have a chance to see them. Of this year's 30+ shows I've attended, this one is a standout, and I cannot overstate that. Such raw, genuine talent in songwriting and performance. They loved their audience, and we loved them back. Even after the "obligatory encore" nobody was leaving, and they returned to the stage a second time for a REAL encore. And just as Gillian is politely saying "goodnight" for the last, last time, Rawlings rips into yet another song. Just glorious. True love filled that room. Everyone, both audience and artists, wanted to stay in that moment. I cannot forget the feeling this show gave me.

Morning sunlight on dewy grass.  Sparkling simplicity, beautifully render.  Pure bliss.  This song equally so.

Highlow~
Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are going on tour early in 2025. I am looking forward to seeing them.
Oh boy... Do I have a soft spot for harmonies and minimalistic orchestration...

This is gorgeous
Minimalism used to excellent effect.  Spare beauty.
Glad to hear new material from these two.
Saw them @ Newport Folk Festival they did a few of their new songs.
Awesome duo
