Back in the 90's I went to a music festival where the 2 headliners were Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden. At the time NIN were touring in support of The Downward Spiral album and Soundgarden for Superunknown. For this show, NIN came on first and put on what might be one of the best live shows I've ever seen to this day. Trent threw himself around the stage like a young Iggy Pop and didn't stop preforming until he had destroyed most of the stage and all his bands instruments in the process. The crowd was covered in sweat and in awe of what we had just seen and experienced. Then Soundgarden came on stage and preformed what might've been the most anti-climactic set ever. They weren't bad but nothing could've come close to what we had just seen. I always wondered if they switched who played last at the next show?
