A bit karaoke, and this is coming from a guy who does cover songs. I guess I just expected a little more from Beck than to simply cover The Flamingos.
You could start an eclectic radio station using only Beck.
Rock? Check.
Country? Yep.
Hip Hop? You know it.
Techno-Pop? You got it.

I don't see anything wrong with doing cover songs other than doing comparisons.
Do you like Starbucks coffee (which is their cover song for coffee) or your own home brew? Both are still coffee although both didn't invent coffee.
Do you like Ben and Jerry's ice cream or Salt and Straws ice cream? Both are still ice cream although both didn't invent ice cream.
I like this version and the original version so that means I like different flavours of ice cream.
