I wish I still had a copy of the CVB contract from ca. 1986. It would be a green M&Ms only sort of Smoking Gun favorite. They wanted vegetarian meals, so I dunno what-all they had except we grilled some veggie/fruit skewers, and did half of them with shrimp on them. They were plainly set apart but David wasn't listening, picked up a shrimp one and shouted IS THERE MEAT IN THIS? and the cook said "that platter has shrimp, the others don't." And 3 of the band lit up like kids at Christmas and dove for the MEAT. They were so happy someone ignored the rules. I wonder if David's ever played San Luis Obispo since then. He wasn't very happy with us.

As it happens, I was just looking at the framed CamperVB album on my wall and thinking how I haven't heard from David Lowery in a while. Now I remember: I disagreed with something he wrote and now I'm blocked. He's quite prickly.
