I am in agreement with your sentiments. I only hope that IF there is a Phoenix story that I'm alive to see it. It would suck to pass on leaving my kids in the hands of bullies. I do feel hopeful that there is an youthful undercurrent right now that may swell into a tidal wave in the not too distant future. Though said bullies will be fighting tooth and nail to keep it at bay.
I see the energetic, concerned âyoungâ generations to be mostly focused on infighting and nit-picking and, IMHO, putting most of their attention on issues that wonât contribute to a bettering of education, financial stability, employment, food security, or health care. Perhaps thatâs just a version of what the folks of the Greatest Generation said about the Greasers and Hippies.
A lot of us here are grey-haired. Our time to steer America was successful and it became rich, powerful, smart, and a role model for the world.
Now, the responsibility for ethics, intelligence, direction, and then importance of the nation is being passed off to younger generations - and they generally aren't in alignment with the Old Ways. Lots of reasons, including the media not being on board with togetherness. No more "I'd like to teach the world to sing" but instead, more "me" focused. (The media doesn't have a responsibility to make America great)
And so, for now, the bullies rule the playground.
It brings me back to the mantra "America is the greatest nation on Earth." But all things must pass. I think that's what we're in the midst of now, the demotion and collapse of American greatness. Will there be a resurgence, a phoenix story? Not fueled by Boomers.

Iâve said this before to all. Youâre witnessing the fall of Rome all over again. Lessons not learned. History is repeating itself but in less time.

I think its $10K, and starting salaries are half or less of $100K.
Education is a local level issue, and not all teachers are under-compensated. If you are, complain to your local county, town...administrator.
