AI is approaching a non-linear, potentially exponential improvement curve as models increasingly code their successors; sophisticated tech companies are already reducing knowledge-worker headcounts dramatically, with teams of six or more collapsing to one.
Within three to four years, AI could displace approximately 15% of U.S. knowledge economy jobs, driving aggregate demand lower and pushing retirement account flows net-negative as displaced workers stop contributing and begin withdrawing.
