IIRC, the RP catalogue went through a purge a while back and I have noticed some songs that I got turned onto because of RP are no longer listed. XTC Generals and Majors being one that I recently found gone.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that due to poor-quality source files of those songs? Some of my favorites have vanished as well, and I was wondering about the reasoning behind that...
All mixes are listed, and have been for many, many years under "Stream Links". Only the website-appearance has changed, now and zen. The website's legacy version is missing out on more than a lot of them (@kurtster, PM'd you).

RP has been the center of my music universe since Cmas 2000 when I got my first computer and still is though I don't listen as much as I used to but that is changing again, too.
I'll try and find a way and some time to check out the rock mix just to see what it is about.
Is there a URL that I can use in foobar ?
** i couldn't get your reply to my reply to show up though i tried several times - so i just snipped part of it**
i didn't know about the purge - and as i think i told you, i was away from RP from about late 2017 until this past march when i came back around to the site. lots of changes since then, for sure. most for the better. like you, i'd been listening and a part of the community since 2001 when we only had the one comment thread. that was so long ago.
i'm not sure about a URL. i am on the site and listen on my work desktop. at the very bottom of the page shows the song playing, your rating (if you rated it and then a little thing that says "playing:" and has a drop down for where you can choose what mix you want to listen to. global mix, main mix, rock mix, your favorites, i think, are the choices.
That's funny. When I think of Rock, none of those alternatives named comes immediately to mind. They're something else. At best, a mutation that began in the late 90's with Grunge. jmso ... ;)
agreed - BUT if you spend some time on the rock mix, you'll see a TON of this stuff, repeatedly, such as: porcupine tree kings of leon placebo arctic monkeys arcade fire elvis costello alt-j REM cake smiths spoon pixies RHCP franz ferdinand and most of these several times in one day. just like on the main mix. (the PSD/fast forward/skip feature is a godsend, for sure.) on the rock mix, william's PSA is that they're working on an update, which i hope includes less repeats (and less talking heads in general LOL), more grungey stuff, some of the stuff the original poster included etc. his other PSA on the rock mix says if you don't like it, try the main mix as it's a little bit of everything along with rocking stuff. i switched from the main mix because i was tired of the main mix's repeated talking heads, U2, pink floyd, costello, dire straits etc. (all bands i like, just...not the same songs every day, or every 2 days, and these artists several times each day - when there is SO much more in the RP catalog that could be played) but, i found that the constant repeats still occur no matter which mix you're tuned to. that said, i love RP - i've been introduced to so much i would have never been exposed to, discovered tracks from bands i knew but hadn't heard before, etc. it's still the best online radio i've found...but i feel like it was so much different years ago. less repetition. not the same bands every day.
I haven't listened to any of the other mixes since they first became available long ago, that and I am primarily on the legacy site so they are not readily available. I just got the Main Mix back on my music computer using the URL in foobar. It has limited functionality being XP. The computer I use for the net just has crappy computer speakers so I don't do much listening on it.
It is nice to have the MM back on the big rig to listen to. The 320 AAC sounds pretty nice. Haven't listened to it much for several years except for one day a week at one of the stores I work in via Alexa. My primary listening these days are album sides that I've ripped over the years and with the new speakers I have been playing all kinds of stuff just to see what the stuff sounds like with the upgrade. And the MM plays when I need a break and something different.

I'd like to hear a channel like this one.
A general Indie Channel.
yeah! that would be a cool additional mix to have here, for sure.
a general indie mix
a grunge mix
an 80's mix
beez and i discuss this dreamily all the time.
but, i certainly wouldn't have time to get that kind of thing done, though. labor intensive for sure. not enough hours in the day for our fearless leader.
