Once visiting a donut shops in brooklyn, the owner who makes them told me about them, I thought he was a strange dude, but it turns out they really exist, but in fact his donuts were sooooooooo delicious
There is a thing here called an Aussie Pizza that includes an egg but I think they just crack it on top and run it through the pizza oven. In my opinion it is an abomination but to each their own. Although I will judge the "Hawaiian Pizza that uses sliced ham instead of short cut bacon (back bacon/Canadian bacon).
I like pineapple on pizza - usually get it on a combo that includes a bunch of other stuff.
This does nothing to dissuade me of the notion that Australia is a land of savages. Good thing they put a moat around you.
I had pineapple and ham on a pizza ("Hawaiian") for the first time when in England. I thought it was an abominationâuntil I tried it. Yum!
I was shocked to see the Brits sell a pizza with a fried egg sunnyside up. But I ate it.

Hawaiian pizza has been a staple at our house for a long time... but there is no sauce.
Our local place makes it as a thin-crust white pizza topped with pineapple, ham & mozzarella. It's a nice change of pace on occasion. The sweet and salty is good. I imagine that the size of the pineapple slices is part of the trick. Too big or too small...it might not work as well.
sorry, i didn't mean you didn't like pineapple - just meant i agreed about what you said about the texture. didn't mean to imply that you didn't like it in general.

Pretty much any kind of peppers (or just about any savory toppings) are fine with me, but pineapple just doesn't work. Aside from the sweet taste the texture isn't pleasant for me. I would try that guy's pizza given the description how he prepares it and that mixture of cheeses, unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to go to Naples any time soon.

I used to be firmly in the NO PINEAPPLE camp, but I've changed my mind. We got a wood-fired pizza oven a couple of years ago and the experimentation had me seeking out new things to do. Fresh pineapple with fresh jalapeño slices? Holy cow, that's good.

It's just cheese and pineapple! It's got to be the most boring thing. I had a spicy sausage/mushroom/pineapple/fresh garlic calzone over the weekend and the pineapple totally makes it better. Sure, my taste buds said WTF but that's because pepperoni would have been better.
edit: Oh, the ketchup pizza. lol reminds me of my roommate who made spaghetti by boiling ramen noodles and putting ketchup on.
