Love the beats, even if it's from '98, still sounds fresh
I love RP but I do have one gripe. There is way too much of this "world fusion" muzak out here. Howzabout we get rid of it and swap it out for some Ibiza style Chillout, which would serve the same purpose with far less annoyance.
Nah, I've read your comments...
You've got more gripes than the neonatal ward at Tygerberg hospital...
I absolutely abhor the "like it or leave" crowd. The ones that hold up the choices presented as binary. There's a portion of the listening audience that loves RP and listens actively and intently but doesn't agree with every choice that William and Co make. Why can't we express our opinions? Criticism is the cornerstone of improvement. Hubris is the direct result of thinking that one is without fault or error. Debate should be encouraged...not stifled ffs. Or do we all really like the way the world is headed??
Interestingly most if not all scores follow a bell-curve with 7 as mean.
My personal annoyance is at folk who seem to have totally missed the point that RP is about diversity, on the one hand, and the personal tastes of Bill and Rebecca, on the other. We're lucky they've dedicated their lives to doing this at all. So many folk complaining when they hear something that doesn't fit their tiny niche of tastes, rather than opening their ears, pushing PSD, or perhaps, better yet, going back to mainstream radio for even a short period of time and realizing what a treasure trove we have here, and that we're blessed to be offered such a diverse collection of music - even if it isn't all catering to our particular interests.
I have to assume that every single song played on RP is paid for, and I can't imagine what that costs to offer as broad a range as there is... even if that means that some bands or musical genres get missed, or are under represented. Unless one is a regular contributor to the operating costs, I don't think we have the right to voice any complaints, although we certainly have the right to leave.
I occasionally hear music on RP that isn't to my tastes, but I have a broad range of musical interests and find, for the most part, almost everything is worth at least sitting through until I hear what comes next. Rarely do I need to PSD, but it's there when I do. And if I get a string of "rather not hear this", rare as that is, I always have the option of "changing channels" or even dipping into my own music collection (funny how rare that has become). I am constantly amazed by the number of bands I've never previously heard of that I now know and love thanks to RP.
RP is like the old joke about the weather in so many locales... "Don't like it? Wait 5 minutes.".
CHEERS B&R... and Thank You for all you do. No complaints here.

Just wait and see how you feel now.
upd: Checking older comments it's obvious I'm not alone. :)
Chorus of Tribes is New Age music project from the UK. Símon Hulbert wrote all the tracks found on the project's first and only album, Myth (1998).Chorus Of Tribes - Myth is a relatively unknown new age / ambient album from Etherean Records. The album was released in 1998 in the UK.
Wow... what a great set... Nature's Way & Animal Zoo from Spirit followed by this awesome piece!
So many 90's Tangerine Dream vibes in there. Not bad.
Love Tangerine Dream and I am enjoying this too! RP FTW!!
would have given it -1 if it was possible
If you don't like it, hit the SKIP BUTTON, Zippy, and shut up!

But isn't that just swapping one person's personal taste and opinion for another person's? Better we have the current balanced mix of incredible music combined with utter garbage that Radio Paradise currently gives us. I intensely dislike some of the music played here and some I absolutely love and head over to Spotify to add to my 'playlists' because I like it so much.🐨

The album was released in 1998 in the UK. The album has a rather ironic story behind it. Late 1997 it was released as a bootleg across the internet and various p2p sites as an album by "Deep Forest and Enigma", and not by "Chorus Of Tribes". Who dubbed "Chorus Of Tribes" to "Deep Forest and Enigma" is unknown, but musically it recembles the two artists in a fair amount, which makes the assumption understandable. This made some people confused, and the album was later rejected as any form of collaboration between the two famous new age artist groups from both sides. However, the songs on this album, independent of whoever made it, became more or less famous. In 1998 it was released on the label Etherean Music. Now, musically the album is impressive. Into Morocco and Rain Song remain two of the most relaxing and best New Age / Tribal songs I've heard. The mood changes a great deal over the course of the album, from almost pure trance to groovy chilled beats, and tribal chants accompanied by soothing beats and vocals. If Deep Forest and Enigma is up your alley, then this is just for you. sourced from http://www.discogs.com/release/709134"
Someone needs to check on that dog.
The one barking in the background
Probably meant the kind you drink.....
Argentinian or Californian, both are excellent.
would have given it -1 if it was possible
.....
LOVE IT!
Damn, I'm the 99th person to upvote the above comment. The honour for the 100th will be for someone else!
G, thx for checking my balance :)
Yes!

I give it a 7, for now.

I was just thinking this could have been on the "Legend" soundtrack!

Oh...yeah, that makes more sense.

You know, if I hadn't read your dog barking comment I may never had heard it that way. Too late now.
See now you have said that 🙊....yep your right 😄
"should"? Have you taken over this station from Bill & Becky? If not, then you're in no position to dish out orders and chase away possibly paying punters.
It's the bleedin' obvious, but needs repeating time and again:
1. Musical taste is highly subjective. One person's sucko-barfo is another's godlike (and vice versa).
2. These boards are for any registered listener to post what s/he wants, within the posting guidelines. Whineing, worship or indifference.

Now, knowing my age and assuming things from lots of other post whores on RP, that comment is pretty funny.
Ambient electronica perhaps?
An altered state is not necessary to enjoy the song. Just don't ever get straight.
Gotta agree with Stingray for once - trance is one of the only musical styles that fall completely flat w/o the support of those colourful little helpers. Just doesn't work without.
In normal state of mind, this is maybe a generous 4.
Does vodka count? 'cause I'm really diggin this after my three martinis
why don't I stop working, get on to Amazon and buy this as a wee treat for myself for Christmas...sorted...love it instantly
Only with those colorful little "mother's little helpers" you can really understand
what trance (and trance-music) is all about!
Trust me!!!

Into Morocco...?
From Spain? Algeria? Rio de Oro? Mauritania?
Or by plane?
?
At 6.50 this would also be a great DJ break song... just sayin.... No-! No "Inagaddadavida"
I don't think this is North African influenced music, at least not pas the intro.
I just hear synthesisers and didgeridoos, and the singing switches between dance-rave and American-Indian.
North African "inspired" may be, but I think it lacks inspiration overall.
I usually like mixing musical styles, but this is just a "meh" from me.

Oh DAMN! "Inagaddadavida"—now that is a true lost gem! When was the last time anybody heard that on the radio?
Do you ever play it, Bill?

My posting of a camel is in no way an endorsement of this awful song.
Yes - agree totally.
you bet!
why this cover-design vs. album title?
Sounds like a music-school project!
Funny you should mention them. According to this web site, Chorus of Tribes is Enigma and Deep Forest having joined forces. Guess I've heard of stranger things...

Chorus of Tribes - Into Morocco
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera Paradise
Turin Brakes - Sea Change
Nice call! I'd almost forgotten about Schultze, who was an absolute hero of mine in the early 80s, so thanks for the reminder. The ominous (in a good way) start to this promises much (and is thus literally ominous), but the omens fail to bear fruit and it descends into bland electronica, which is a shame. What's with the yipping dog in the background?
Pleasant enough, but no real edge or memorability. Nice for a chill-out with a nice pint and/or a stiff spliff in a darkened room. 6 from the Nottingham jury.
The synth drive recalls Quaaludes and rum. . .
It doesn't really do anything for me, but isn't particularly objectionable either, it's just kind of bland and its homogeneity means there isn't really any new to discover in it from repeated listenings.
But that also means that if you do hear it over and over, it very quickly becomes tiresome, if not actually bothersome.
I have a bunch of "Windham Hill" style stuff from long ago and I find that very little of it ages well at all. Michael Hedges is a notable exception. Tons of rewarding stuff from multiple listenings.
This... not so much.
If you don't care for a song, don't listen, skip it.
By the way have you made a contribution to support their efforts?
