I Agree!  I"m doing heavy chair dancing right now!   Thanx RP!
Those compilation albums (Verve Remixed 1 & 2) were really nice back then, quality remixes by the best electronic producers to Jazz classics I didn't really know back then.

Perfect soundtrack for setting a smoothy-sexy atmosphere, easy 8 from me
Play Sade instead!
agreed, i like smooth loungey stuff, but this is too bass-y and repetitive for me as well...
too much repetitive for me!
I am Dr. Winston Legthigh and i approve of this message er.. song chiiiiiill
I LOOOOVE Theivery Corporation.
Man, I won't be able to study tonight!!

Indeed... Girl from Ipanema by Antonio Carlos Jobim is probably the most popular bossa tune in the universe, and appears on perhaps hundred albums in a hundred different languages. In fact, there is a cafe in the Ipanema district of Rio de Janiero in which AC Jobim purportedly wrote the lyrics on a napkin and the cafe is now named for the song. You can go there and buy a T-shirt.
I'd like to see this go bossa supernova--then disappear into a black hole. Black is beautiful.
I thought she was singing "Who needs 4 lovers?"
Ban de Soliel for the San Tropez tan!
What's next? Sade singing Your Love is King?
Real cool stuff...
this whole cd is great...good for car dancing.

Never heard him called Juan. . .Antonio, yes, Tom, yes, Juan. . .well, regardless, he's Juan in a Million!

Great!
Trippy...I dig!
Wonderful! Now, how about an unplayed one from the library: Astrud Gilberto, et al, doing The Girl From Ipanema?
I missed this song cause our friggin server crashed. And Astrud is my favorite singer. Now I don't know if Thievery Corp did her justice or not.

Same here. I like it because of Thievery Corporation. Really dreamy.
I hadnt heard much from these guys til RP. But I heard one Astrud and that nails it. The other tune with Kirsty Maccoll was very good too. Its on the list! Thanks Bill.
yay...more TC
ah yeah...

I really like this remix. (With apologies to my sophisticated co-listeners in Brazil.) I love the Verve Remix CDs. The Billie Holiday "Swing Low" remix by Bent is absolutely scrumptious.
Totally .. I agree!

I guess I just don't get trance music where they keep repeating the same line over and over until you fall asleep or smash the radio
This is not trance.
Do you think it would be possible to get some Astrud sans this new re-mix crap added? The original stuff was far superior!
Can we please, please have more from Astrud Gilberto, she has such a great voice. Many thanks for playing this.
Still a great voice, cool how about playing one of her classics songs please.
somewhat cool but I hafta go to sleep anyways
Nice. Just a little repetitive.
NOT MY THING.
More of the same. Ho Hum!!!

Sorry, but i can't stand anything from Astrud (even if it's only "ahhs", "uhhs" "ohhs"). And the whole song is sooo repetitive... anyone can do better than this with a loop-oriented software like Acid...
AGREED!!!!!!!! Você acertou na mosca, parabéns! obs. também sou de São Paulo
It's always dreamy to hear from Astrud. However way you mix it!
RP can't get any better today! Lovin it!
Liking this! Somehow I was expecting something from Queen's "Highlander" soundtrack. But this is better.
Love this over and over

It gets an 8 from me. I can't tell why people don't like it either. It's like some people just don't like electronica (any genre) at all...no matter what.

Wo! Does not compute! I've been listening to her voice and phrasing, and loving both, since 1964 when my parents bought Girl from Ipanema. It never occurred to me that someone could not like it, much less hate it! Hey, it's your call.

I really like this whole cd (except for maybe 2 tracks). Also nice is that they released Verve Unmixed at the same time with all the original tracks. They are both really great in my opinion for different moods.
