That's an interesting fact. Memories do pale much more often than we like to admit, and lots of incoming things don't register on every floor of our building, as we're diversely patched.

well you named them already :D

Brings back memories… had a co-worker friend about 28 years ago who played guitar in the local blues society nights and I went on a blues binge; Muddy Waters was on regular rotation for a long time.
Got my mojo woikin' !

Racists probably.
Same shit if the music is sung by anyone who's foreign (and not white). What is it with these people? Music is a great leveler. I don't care if you're black, or white, purple red or green. If you can sing I appreciate it. Except for Coldplay, but that's just me.
Got My Mojo Workin' from home these days, taking one Zoom meeting after another. It's not as exciting as Muddy makes it out to be.
My only 10
Cant stop stompin my feets to Muddy's Mojo.  RIP

Well this brings back fond memories!  An enormous African-American guy calling himself Jelly Belly (seriously, he was huge!) made the rounds through several Boston and Cambridge dive bars in the mid-80s and he'd do this piece "in da Chicago staahl" and just kill it.  It became something of his signature piece and watching him do it after you'd downed several pints was truly something to behold.  He'd move that bulk around on those little bar stages like nobody's business - wiping the sweat off his forehead with a white hanky every few seconds - and man, you believed his mojo really was workin' by the time he wrapped it up!   Nicest guy too — he had a shockingly bright white smile that he loved to show off and he always graciously took requests.  Some nights he'd have a basket that he'd place at the edge of the stage and it seemed like it was always overflowing with cash by the end of his set.  Great times, great song!

HA!  Black Magic Woman to Got My Mojo Workin' !!!  B&R, you are kinda good at this!
Thanks Bill for once again informing the masses.Yes, Black Magic Woman stole this blues progression.
There don't seem to be any mojo hands available in NYC.  I'm going down to Louisiana to pick one up.  The point is to have all these women rachere up under my command.  This may not be a good plan.

Just never you mind 'bout wretchs, what's that 'mojo' thang he's a talkin' about?
I checked.  Amazon doesn't appear to stock mojo hands.  I'll likely have to go down to Louisiana and pick one up.
Boy does this bring back memories. Saw him in a tiny bar in London, Ontario in the 70's, what a presence.

As Howie from Cortes Community Radio likes to say, "The blues is the roots, the rest is the fruits".
I've been trying to get my mojo working but it's going slowly.  This mojo stuff isn't easy, you know.  Unless you're Muddy Waters.  Thank you Muddy.

While most jazz and rock 'n' roll certainly have their roots in the blues, it seems like a bit of an overstatement to say that "all modern music started from blues".  A lot of contemporary music forms (some jazz, prog, electronic, experimental, etc.)  are derived from classical structures and international sources, and owe little to the blues structures.

Millions of people every year are affected by the growing problem of mojo dysfunction.  A non-working mojo can lead to embarrassment, added expense, and even severe health problems. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Muddy Waters Foundation will help fund the critical research needed to build a world in which everybody's mojo is workin.'  This has been a public service message from the Muddy Waters Foundation, Friends of the Mojo Deprived, the Ad Council, and Radio Paradise.
I've been to a few parties where this would go great—sadly, not nearly enough of them lately!

Probably the best dancin' banana song of all time.
Mister Muddy Definitely Got The Mojo!
Nod of appreciation to the master, but I'm a little done with this style for a while. Moving on.
Good choice to follow Neil Young but I was thinking Jethro Tull from that tinkling at the start of Mojo.
Woirks for me!
That album cover reminded me that I own this disc but haven't played it in a while. Great blues series put out by Rhino—think it's discontinued now...
A half a century later — you rock!!!
