Have to get back, have to get back the base
I need to talk to somebody, I can trust
Too many cooks, are tryin' to spoil the broth
I can't feel it in my throat, that's all she wrote

I'm not feeling it no more, I'm not feeling it anymore
Not feelin' it no more, not feelin' it anymore

When I was high at the party, everything looked good
I was seein' through rose coloured glasses
Not seein' the wood for the trees
I started out in normal operation
But I just ended up in doubt
All my drinking buddies, they locked me out

I'm not feelin' it no more, I'm not feelin' it anymore
No feelin' it no more, I'm tryin' to give you the score

You see me up there baby, I'm on the screen
But I know better now, it's so unreal
If this is success, then something's awful wrong
'cause I bought the dream and I had to play along

I'm not feelin' it no more, I'm not feelin' it anymore
I'm tryin' to give you the score, I'm not feelin' it no more

We all know that money, don't buy you love
You just get a job and somewhere to live
You have to look for happiness, within yourself
And don't go chasin' thinkin' that it is somewhere else

I'm not feelin' it no more, I'm not feelin' it anymore
Baby I'm tryin' to give you the score,
I'm not feelin' it no more

I was pretending all the time
I was givin' everybody what they wanted
And I lost my peace of mind
And all I ever wanted was simply just to be me
All you ever need is the truth
And the truth will set you free

I'm not feelin' it no more, I'm not feelin' it anymore
I'm tryin' to give you the score, just like I did before
I'm not feelin' it no more, I'm not feelin' it anymore
I'm not feelin' it no more, baby I'm just trying to give you the score
I'm not feelin' it no more, not feelin' it anymore
Not feelin' it no more
Not feelin' it no more baby.

Hey... what's going here? Quoting poetry, now? Ain't this a rock n roll station?

And what about William Blake and The Eternals?  And throw in the Sisters of Mercy.

Now...that's poetry.

And this song has a nice piano groove.
Words or melody? Which came first?
"Language is the foundation of civilization. It is the glue that holds a people together. It is the first weapon drawn in a conflict."
but I degress  this song has a nice piano groove.
 Friends forever.

So what are you trying to say?
John Keats wrote:
A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness. Beauty is truth, truth beauty that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter. Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced.

if this was a younger man with less history the lyrics would be boring, banal

This was an exemplary collection. I love “On Hyndford Street”...

There is an urban walk from the Braniel down to Connswater. Taking in Hyndford St is a favourite diversion.

I stopped buying Van when this album came out. Minus one or two, I have everything he did from Astral Weeks on, but by the time Hymns to the Silence came out, he seemed to be going through the motions. It's too bad because he's one of my alltime favorites, but (In my opinion) he's missing the soul he used to have. I used go see him in concert every time I got the chance and it was always a mystical experience. The last time I saw him (back in '99) it was like watching a lounge act. Seems like became a parody of himself.

Song title says it all, n'est pas?
Excellent but overlooked album.

This is a great album unfortunately the only time I got to see him in concert it was 2015 one of the worst I've ever seen. Lounge act indeed.

Don't we all miss the soul that we used to have..?

(I know I do and I am sad about it)

I'm not saying you are not right, I am just wondering what does it (all) mean. :-)

I am trying to accept other people's (and artists') faults (are they faults?) along with mine (not always succeeding).

But then 2020 came, and good ol' Van was one of the very few who spoke (sang) his mind about what is going on all over the world

This song has a real bussy rythm! Great music! Also reminds me of the way I feel about the curent BAILOUT money we are surrendering to the Breaucrats and Banksters in Washington DC! ~ I'm not feelin it anymore!
My  drinkin buddies lockid me out'a da door!  ~            I wish'ed they were singin that tune!

That's TOO bad. Sorry for your loss. ;)
I sure like some of his stuff but the off-key singing on this song is really painful.
Great Tune

I really like Van Morrison too.... damn this song sucks
more Van would not bother me....this guy is great..

Like I said, it's only a little bit, but it jumps out at me because I have perfect pitch. His vocals are slightly waivery at times. :)
Any Van is good by me.
This song is just so good. I love it!!! I love Van.
I don\'t know why I like this song so much. Van sings out of tune at times which drives me crazy, but I guess the whole spirit of the song moves me.
toes are taping and head is bobbing....Thanx :D
