There is nothing eclectic about this song at all. Tune into any top-40 Country music station for 15 different variations, all with the exact same guitar riff.

About time Jimmy LaFave gets some attention at RP. A great, versatile, moving voice which manifests itself best in ballads, I think. I once saw him perform live and closed my eyes at certain moments cause the way he comes across doesn't correspond with his voice and music at all and damaged the way I experience them. Who knows what would have happened to his career if he would've had the charisma and stage appearance of, say, Springsteen (and more commercial songs).

While he's from Okalhoma, Jimmy plays all over Austin all the time. Glad to hear him pop up on RP. Great singer-songwriter. While he rocks on this one, he has a number of great, soulful ballads, which seem to be his main forte.
