smooth spinning of tunes today. Thank you!

Thank you.

Jesus, if we have to listen to people actually calling this a good track, they can listen to us pointing out that it's actually pretty bad.  I get that music is subjective, but the musicianship, the arrangement, and the lyrics, are utterly without creativity.  Before the haters reply, just read the lyrics.

Like it?  No problem.  Upset that some of us don't?  Get over yourself.  It's not a good track, and the comments section isn't just for meaningless cheerleading.

That's fair. Lots of music I don't like that many do. I'm trying to understand the music from their point of view.

I keep RP on most of the day at work -- my defense against the constant foul language outside my office door (I work in a high school). Plus, I just really love RP. Whenever a staff member walks in, I usually get, "I'm liking the vibe in here..."

I use RP as my "At Work" music too, My Metal and Prog tastes get odd looks (though still better than the bad Death Metal the now fired crackhead played) and the local stuff is BAD (90% of it played on the top 40 stations from when I left the area in 1984) and while I get a lot of "What is THAT?" generally, get good comments if they've listened for more than one or two songs.

A chairdance song
I always felt “praise you” plodded along too much until fat boy performed it at this year’s Glastonbury festival with Rita Ora

Fatboy Slim - Praising You (Feat. Rita Ora) (Glastonbury 2023) - YouTube

So old, but it still catches me completely. One cannot dance not, right?

I don't recall hearing a recurring vinyl-like tic throughout before - is that real or an unwanted artefact on this copy?

I had to turn it up a bit to confirm the tic, too…

I don’t think ANYthing on this track (or from FBS in general) is an unwanted artifact. :-)
He had an interesting vignette on the Netflix series on Woodstock '99.

Photo of him from the "documentary".
I get why some folks don’t like it, but it’s a toe-tapper — and a keeper — for me.

This song just rubs me the wrong way ...
My mother was manageress of Woolworths (in Bromley where Cook was born) in 1963. Quelle coincidence. And the Clash song following fits in perfectly with this theme.
Anyone know if  the "nah, nah, nah" was sampled from "Hey Hey Hey!" (The Fat Albert cartoon opening theme)?
The Fat Albert Theme Song
No one really needed to dumb down the lyrics on this example of short bus wizard.

Surprised no one has mentioned the 1960s "Balance And Rehearsal" album that the riff came from.

It comes in at about 2:40.

That's the RP mission statement is it not? 🙂

Not hardly.
Can’t believe all the negative comments. I think this is extraordinarily catchy and clever!
Was lucky enough to see Fat Boy Slim (and others) play live on Brighton Beach twice, in 2001 & 2002. Both were amazing gigs, and take me back to a wonderful time in my life.

aged badly
well and truly played out and a bit hackneyed

Let’s do this🤟
It's an absolute 10! :-)
Having trouble deciding: Is this merely marginal or completely sucko-barfo?
Hard pass.
Well beneath RP.
Yes, dear, I will happily take out the trash.
Wow! They went from a 3 chord progression to a 2 chord progression and then back to 3! Brilliant!
Looks like this hasn't been played in 12 years.  I had, thankfully, forgotten about it.  Too bad it's here again.  Hope I'm not around the next time it gets played.

Are you sure it was an adult movie theatre? Looked like a normal theatre to me, and some of the people in the line were far too young for it to be an adult theatre.
Actually it is the Bruin Theater in Westwood, CA, just off campus from UCLA. I know because I *WAS* one of those young people in line to see the movie =). (That's my great claim to fame...) We didn't even know what was going on until we all came out of the theater and they had us all sign release forms.

weak, repetitive, and annoying. fatboy slim is pretty sucky in my book.
I\'d never heard this song before way over here in Fronch. It\'s groovy! :)
This is a great song...different, nice, fun, I like it!!!
The tidy, manicured single version is tolerable. This version is not. Ugh.
much better is the original, Camille Yarbrough\'s \"Take Yo\' Praise\"
How eclectic! Just not good. Monotonous and irritating.

Too bad for you. I think this stuff is great.
When you really no longer know how to define a certain musical genre, there\'s still the possibility of calling it \"Everything\" (or \"Alles\" in Dutch) like a music magazine, I read yesterday, did. :p
I LOVE electronic music of almost all varieties. FBS and Moby however give the whole genre a bad name. hackneyed, talentless bunk, i say.
I love to dance at my desk to this one....it jams! :)
How is it that there are so many closed minded listeners on an eclectic station such as this? Bill, keep up the good mixes.
Uggg...I say this song doesn\'t belong on your station.
