Fightin' fire with fire
Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool babies, strange but not a stranger
I'm an ordinary guy
Burning down the house
Hold tight, wait till the party's over
Hold tight, we're in for nasty weather
There has got to be a way
Burning down the house
Here's your ticket pack your bags: time for jumpin' overboard
The transportation is here
Close enough but not too far, maybe you know where you are
Fightin' fire with fire
All wet, hey you might need a raincoat
Shakedown, dreams walking in broad daylight
Three hundred sixty-five degrees
Burning down the house
It was once upon a place sometimes I listen to myself
Gonna come in first place
People on their way to work, baby what did you expect
Gonna burst into flame
Fightin' fire with fire
Fightin' fire with fire
Burning down the house
My house, s'out of the ordinary
That's right, don't want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet
Burning down the house
Watch out, you might get what you're after
Cool babies, strange but not a stranger
I am, I'm an ordinary guy
Three hundred sixty-five degrees
Burning down the house
Fightin' fire with fire
Fightin' fire with fire
Gonna burst into flame
Fightin' fire with fire
Fightin' fire with fire
Fightin' fire with fire
Gonna burst into flame
My house
No visible means of support and you have not seen nothing yet
Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect staring into your TV set
Fighting fire with fire
Burning down the house
Ooh

This just ain't right.
Do a shot of Hornitos with salt and lemon, then a hit of Golden Goat, after hearing Talking Heads' last song, and LOVE THIS MADLY
I've been listening (and supporting) RP for 10 years, maybe more; I've lost track. And this is the 1st time I've ever heard this cover. When Jones was recording pop hits back in the day, it generally fell outside my personal interest, but I always thought he had a uniquely powerful voice. The stuff he's recorded since his pop days has increased my interest and respect for his talent. He's recorded some great stuff, including collaborating with people like Jools Holland and David Gilmore. This track is another great surprise, so thanks RP. (I'd love to know how he got together with a Swedish band. )
This is so very wrong. But somehow right.

I love this. I hate stupidity and I don't have a lot of patience for new things (which I'm trying to get past) but I've always loved this collaboration.
Great set tonight Bill & Rebecca.....Thanks!
We had a local radio station that would do a thing called 'Make it Stop' or something like that. They would start playing some not-so-good song and would only stop once a caller identified the song and group. I do like the original song, and I know Bill loves covers, but .......

nope
This gets a 10 because...well, it just does.
Gotta love Mr. Jones' unapologetic sheer level of... Bombastickness, for lack of a better word :) He was the king of kitchyness and white flailing pirate shirts even before Michael Flatley had a clue, lol
Tom is performing at home on BBC Teletext, and frequently appears on UK TV.
At 80 his voice is better than ever.

Nice and quirky but at least 1 verse too long, it really drags in the middle.
Tom is really getting after it in this song. I dig it!
I think I like this better than the original. I'm not sure what that says about me.

This tune is so funky vibe. Can't understand the low ratings. Besides Cardigans got pretty cool cover versions in general.
Didn’t like TJ much when I was a kid- but OMG this is a fun cover! I had to recheck my settings to make sure it was RP- go Bill go!!!
I can vouch for this fact, Tom Jones has some serious pipes!
Aside from the fact he was so incredibly popular in the 60's, and his was the very first 45 rpm single I ever bought with my own money at about 8 yrs old, I never paid much attention. Until I heard his cover of Kiss by Prince. Then about 10 years ago I went to see Tom Jones "close" for Tower of Power. Holy Smokes!! Pipes for days! And a command of the stage and the audience you would be blessed to see.
FWIW, I am a Prog guy, but appreciate talent wherever it shows up.

Love this so much. What a fun combination of lyrics I've always enjoyed, and a fun danceable sound.

We spent so much time wondering if we could, that we forgot to ask if we should..
and just when you start to believe youve heard a lot of z everything along comes something com-plete-ly different. whats new pussycat? exactly f'ing right.
This song makes me laugh!

Really like the contrast of his '70 energy and her millennial understatement.
Awesome! Ear to ear smile here!
Far, far better, by an order of magnitude, than the original from David "Teletubby" Byrne. Lots of energy, great voices, and more zip than the RKK factory. Talking Headcases might be offended by this, but I love it to bits. Tom Jones I've always liked, as he never takes himself seriously and has a really powerful voice. 8 from the Nottingham jury.
