The summer days are gone too soon
You shoot the moon
And miss completely
And now you're left to face the gloom
The empty room that once smelled sweetly
Of all the flowers you plucked if only
You knew the reason
Why you had to each be lonely
Was it just the season?

And now the fall is here again
You can't begin to give in
It's all over

When the snows come rolling through
You're rolling too with some new lover
Will you think of times you told me
That you knew the reason
Why we had to each be lonely
It was just the season

Will you think of times you told me
That you knew the reason
Why we had to each be lonely
It was just the season

I was given this album when it was released by my beautiful generous boyfriend (one Darwin Christmas) with whom i was so much in love but feeling undeserving, self sabotaged my way back to loneliness & when ever i hear it now, i release the regret a little more. Thanks RP for the continuing richness you provide to us all, as we live through this period of civilisation crumbling, clinging to the best of human endeavour with the music you so generously offer.
SUPERB!  I am not a big fan of hers.  Thanx RP!
The beginning sounds very similar to this, and is even in the same key (C major)

Two songs back was Break on Through by The Doors, and that was a PSD for me -- great band, but I tire of their sound so quickly. Then Norah comes on, and I have to stop and appreciate the beauty of her voice. Beauty is in the ear of the beholder too. Beautiful, effortless sound, just the way music should be. Bravo.
