No one can tell you your opinion is wrong (in fact I share it about a lot of jazz), but nothing on this particular album is 'Aimless'. It may be aimed in a way you don't like, but it's aimed.
Very well stated!
Hmmm.... I'm getting a feel, the jazz selections dispersed in the playlists , have a feel of winter holidays. I like it much better than Rudolf / white Christmas / etc repeated every couple of hours. Not sure if that is what you are doing Bill, but it's a nice mix. Kind of like Jethro Tull's 'Songs from the Woods', being harvest holiday/solstice, but somehow not the same as the corny Christmas songs 24/7.
MUCH BETTER than Michael Bouble' & Maraih Carey!
Wonderful music that has stood the test of time. I remember it from the early sixties, my dad lying on the floor in front of the old console, me putting my eye up to the red diamond on the corner of the speaker. My introduction to jazz. It still swings.
Cool story! Thank You for sharing it!
I was brought up on Dave Brubeck, this is such easy listening, thanks RP, funnily enough my dad is sat here listening.... there are so many memories in music
Cool! Thank You for sharing!

Not all who tootle aimlessly are terrible.
(with apologies to Tolkien)
You don't like trippy, vibey, groovy kind of stuff, that can make you walk funny down the street?
Yes. Definitely.
We can argue All Day Long as to whether this is real jazz or...whatever. When music flows this easily and melodically, labels mean nothing.
Would love to know why this didn't get played for something like eight years ('06-'14).
Thanks for playing something other than the title track.
LOL. Exactly what I was thinking. Love "Take Five," but whenever you request Brubeck, that's always what you get. He's got tons of other great stuff.
Thanks for playing something other than the title track.
a lot of great tracks by these guys and timeless .
Beatniks with good taste.
And being it's Black / African American History Month, note that in the '50s and '60s Brubeck cancelled gigs when producers and club owners tried to shun Eugene Wright bassist and objected to an integrated band.
Unfortunately I'm not a big jazz fan... But this album (along with just about anything from Chet Baker) is fabulous .
I Agree! ... and I am a BIG jazz fan.
