Sleep well beautiful girl, for your long, long struggle is done.
Sleep well beautiful girl, for your long, long struggle is done.
Ah, but such extraordinary depth of beauty her long long struggle has afforded all and any who may receive such grace... Wow, just wow!
.
i'm a huge Nirvana fan... but like gilmorecairns said below - it's an apples and oranges situation here. i'm really diggin this version a lot on its own. doesnt compare to the original, but it doesnt need to either. she has made it into an entirely different song with new meaning. very cool.
Very cool indeed!!
Godspeed Sinead & Kurt!
Nice!
Godspeed Sinead & Kurt!
She was a great artist. But her problems were probably too overwhelming.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!!!
....do you mean just because you can (listen) doesn't mean you should (listen) ?
Sinead O'Connor, Irish musician and abuse-victim, was so incensed by Benedict's fake empathy, she wrote a fiery article for the Washington Post where she said:
"Irish Catholics are in a dysfunctional relationship with an abusive organization. The pope must take responsibility for the actions of his subordinates. If Catholic priests are abusing children, it is Rome, not Dublin, that must answer for it with a full confession and a criminal investigation. Until it does, all good Catholics... should avoid Mass. In Ireland, it is time we separated our God from our religion, and our faith from its alleged leaders."
Provides a lot of context for her photo ripping. I had no idea how extensive things were until watching the Spotlight movie.
Holy Moly.. This is an abomination. Nothing Compares to the Original. ;)
Nothing Compares was also a cover tune she did. I do not know of the Abomination cover you mentioned. ;-)
(I'm happy that Bill touches on all tastes and genre that we can praise and cringe to)
now Bowie followed by Nirvana ( Man Who Sold The World ) followed by this :)
Would you say you are easily amused?

It turns out that prayer is no defense against covid ....
religion = charlatanism
Similarly, bluster is no defense
goodbye Donald the Insane
"Aqua sea foam shame" - I enjoy when people come up with phrases like this.
Kurt didn't make it through his pain but Sinead continues to be interesting.
Bowie to Nirvana Bowie cover to Sinead Nirvana cover - niiiice!
Today it was a Bowie song, followed by "A David Bowie Cover by Nirvana [The Man Who Sold the World] followed by this Nirvana Cover..."
I'm smiling at the humor of it all.
As it turns out, Natalie Merchant covering the Rolling Stones.. Hmm.
And then the stones covering Buddy Holly...
And then Buddy Holly. What's next?
As a computer scientist, seems kind of recursive.
As it turns out, Natalie Merchant covering the Rolling Stones.. Hmm.
