I feel fine
Don't wake me up yet
O the young and the old they get everything
and it's my turn

I'm here
I'm someone to know
I'm calling the tune but
I'm losing the words

Laughingly I take the fevered applause
of the people by the riverside
I'm walking
Walking on water
God knows why

I'm losing the words
I am a man
Well nearly
Celebrate life
Be good to yourself

Don't wake me like that
I was dreaming and I'd rather carry on
Give me a love and hate
on both my hands
I'll show you what I'm made of
Wasting my breath when I say that

Don't wake me like that
I was dreaming and I'm tired of everyone
Here's hoping that you'll
Go now so long leave me alone

Give me a love and hate
on both my hands
I'll show you what I'm made of
Wasting my breath when I say that
Love, hate
A pair of hands
That's where I began
Just be good
Good to yourself

I feel fine
Don't wake me up yet
Cos I feel tired
Don't be like that
We don't need to work any more now
Open that ground up and slip down

I miss them too.  I hope Harriet is happily raising her kids and tending to family.
Nice song, but didn't need the somewhat bombastic instrument mid-song.

That does seem a bit incongruous, eh?
les sundays ! Une magnifique étoile filante de beauté dans les galaxies musicales !
Ahhh...Harriet Wheeler, how I miss you so.
Why would yo have that as. An album cover..

I stand (or sit) corrected about that.  I was probably distracted by the melody and her voice.

I can't blame you one moment...for I am distracted for the exact same reason. Love her voice.
I moved back to the states after living in the southern coast of Spain during my teenage years Someone turned me on to theSundays (and Fugazi) and this was the platform used to overcome the culture shock I endured in my 20's   Love Davids ease with the simple guitar and Harriett always felt like she was speaking to me... Great memories  Thanks RP

It sounds like the majority of this song is in 4/4.  Nice tune.

I recall jamming to this, new, speeding through the spruce and cedars in the snowy mountains of Noto Peninsula, waves crashing nearby.

I like this album when I bought it years ago, but it has a strange Thorazine affect.
listen to the complete album and about 5 - 6 songs in you feel sleepy.
Harriet could sing the phone book......do they still have phone books?
This sounds an awful lot like the Cocteau Twins, both the fuzzy ethereal instrumentals and dream-like vocals, but I figured it couldn't have been the Cocteaus because the lyrics were comprehensible. 6 from the intrigued Nottingham jury.
I miss Harriet and the boys...

6 —-> 8

Another stunning Sundays song.  And yes, it's in 6/8.  The accents on the beats can lean to thinking in fours...  ONE, two, three, FOUR, five, six.

I'd vote for 12/8, personally. But of course, it doesn't matter. It's a lovely song. I wish the Sundays had done more stuff before or after Harriet Wheeler retired to devote herself to family.
Wonderful Sundays song with unabashed Cocteau Twins influence

Anybody know what happened to this band?  Three great albums then they disappear...

Looks as though Harriet Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin settled down to raise kids after 97's Static and Silence release. I can't believe they haven't written anything new in all these years. They were the soundtrack to a couple of my broken hearts in college. So, Harriet and David, wherever you are, thanks for helping me through some late-adolescent angst.

What a beautiful voice!

no kidding...

RP has the evocative female vocal angle definitively covered.

What a beautiful voice!
Reminds me strongly of Shawn Colvin.
The album cover scares the livin' $#!t out of me {#Stop}

Really nice. This is an excellent CD. RP needs more of it in rotation.
And on the 7th day, God jammed......................
Love the Sundays. Nice choice!

I can still listen to this album, not dated at all. Why was this band so short lived.
Fahbulous voice {#Meditate}
With this song, I suddenly heard the connection between The Sundays and the shoegaze, ethereal movement, like Cocteau Twins, which is maybe my favorite group... I knew very little about The Sundays, I guess I have to check them out... {#Tongue}

Amen brother...this Album still haunts me its so good.

Nice to hear a different track from this great band.

I can never get enough of Harriet Wheeler's voice!
This should be the right follow-up for Mazzy Star. They do have something in common. But my heart, soul, body and mind stay with The Sundays for ever.
Timeless!!
Amazing run Mazzy Star - The Sundays. I think I must be DJ today...
First heard this from a demo given us back when I was a DJ at a little hole-in-the-wall radio station in SoCal. Liked it then ... like it now.
Haven't listened to this one in quite a few years, but still knew every word. Really good stuff.
Most excellent to hear her voice again!!
Maybe it's just because the pain pill I took for my aching back just kicked in... but this sounds just lovely. or ?
Mazzy Star + The Sundays if only nap time was a possibility
What a voice! Yes!!!!
Nice to hear! It's been a long time.
I have a case of the Mondays, and I'm not sure this is helping.
I've had this CD (Blind) for quite a few years. It has that great ethereal, atmospheric sound that very few musicians (Enya, Lorenna McKinnett) can create. It's too bad the Sundays are no more...
