EXCELLENT!! Thanx RP!
Ron Jeremy was certainly endowed with quite a flute... but I don't recall seeing him in Anchorman

Surely you mean right DOWN there?... Agree with many here. This was probably fun on the night but it is pretty dreggy. Paco's stuff with Al di Meola and for films by Carlo Saura were majestic.
Wooow, just wrote the word majestic and Bill then puts on Majesty.
He did it again.

If there's an award for banal lyrics, this song has to be a front-runner.

Ouch.

Agreed. Those vocals (and that damned flute!) are totally obnoxious. I wondered why I'd rated this a 2, because I seldom waste a rating on something less than what I consider to be a 7 or higher. Now I know.
Bumping this to 1.

Oh Please! Shut this guy up!!
This is Flamenco showboating, these same artists are capable and have done much better original, and at the same time, authentic stuff.

I think he is saying "I wanna ginko." Maybe if he had some, he wouldn't have gotten that he'd already asked for it 17 times in the last 10 seconds.

entirely too much flute. I could do without flute in just about everything.

I'm hearing "Iguana-guana king-kong." Like he's singing about a really big iguana.
Which doesn't really deepen my understanding of the lyrics so much.

oh come on.
This is awful.
it started a midiocre and ignorable, ended up obnoxious.
Easy, boys. It's a little early in the morning for this racket.
This is not so good for the ears. It does not remind me of Flamenco music from Spain, it's a fusion of I don't know what you would call it - I give it a 4.

Stay in your trash can, Oscar. I'm entitled to my opinion, thanks. And I'll bet I listen to many, many more artists in more genres than you do, so to write that I have a narrow mind is in itself narrow-minded.
Not only that, if you review the comments below, you'll quickly learn that a good portion of the listeners agree with me.
The previous poster through his comments has already admitted to having a very narrow mind. Please ignore him, thanks.

This is one of the few times I agree with you, Excelsior. I also like the Gipsy Kings' (sic) instrumental work, but cannot stomach their "vocals."
Paco de Lucia is normally fantastic.
That said, this song absolutely blows.

That must be some big lizard. Love it. Jump start my morning.
Amazing. Gotta hear that again!
For the person asking about the bass player, it appears to be Carles Benavent (yes, Carles with an 'e'). He's a member of Paco de Lucía's sextet. Some good YouTube stuff if you search around.
I wanna iguana......

I checked the CD. Yes, it's Pepe.
As near as I can tell, the vocals are his brother, Pepe de Lucía.
Can anybody confirm or refute? I couldn't find proof.
AMG lists it as "Composed By: Paco de Lucía/Pepe de Lucía" (click here)
Don't have my PdL Antologia CD at hand to check it right now, but I suppose you've probably heard right.
Man, that started off like the live version of PG's
IN YOUR EYES.

Mother doesn't always know best.
If I could only listen to the music, it would be a very good piece.

The lyrics stink, and I think the flute is out of place in a DeLucia song. But his guitar playing is absolutely astounding. How 'bout some "Friday Night in San Francisco" with Al DiMeola and John McLaughlin?
all flamenco songs are essentially written for the "dance" - and this one would be fun to watch, the vocals are just for fun!
Stick to the instruments and hire a better vocalist!
Gotta give credit to the talent, though. They know their instruments!

Tolerable, but I know that if I had to hear it a second time, I'd be really annoyed.
This is fun stuff!! Great guitar... Definitely a song for summertime, margaritas, hot food, spicy food, and hot......
