I woke up late
Put my sweater on
And I walked down to the shop
I stood in line
'Til the line was gone
And my turn to win was lost

What do you do
When you look to the left and to the right
And find no clue?

Well I'm sending a letter to God
How will it be when I'm gone?
And what if everyone is wrong?

I took you in
Made a bed for you
And in turn you gave me some
Words to go on
Told me I was saved
But you never said what from

What do you do
When you look to the left and to the right
And find no clues
To the questions you ask yourself at night?
Who will come through?

You'll be sending a letter to God
How will it be when you're gone?
And what if everyone is wrong?

A solid case
For the innocent
Could be made and laid to rest
They say, "it won't do
If you aren't like us
Then you've failed the final test"

What do you feel
When you look to the east and to the west
If this is real
Does it feel like some never ending test?
A finance deal
If this is my one last chance to invest
I've one request

I'll be sending a letter to God
To know where will I go when I'm gone
And what if everyone is wrong?

The title track "Wildflower" off this album is a very pretty song. If it was from some unknown indie artist I'm sure Bill would have it in heavy rotation.
How about some of her more rare stuff. E.g., "No One Said It Would Be Easy Lyrics." I like those types of cuts. :-)
Typical, predictable, dull -- like everything else she does.

"bland" - Yeah, I bought it yesterday (at Whole Foods!) and listened to it. That's my first take on it, too, except I used the word "insipid". But Bill's "airing" this track is going to make me give the CD another chance. FWIW, I have been a HUGE fan of her first several albums.
if you don't like it, pass it along to me - I'd like to hear more. Always liked her. Great live shows.
Damn if this song isn't catchy though. Familiarity encourages me to increase the rating, which I started at 3.

I'm in the minority here, I know, but I really like Sheryl Crow -- The Globe Sessions in particular is a really strong album, particularly once you get past the pop tunes you hear on the radio all the time. Although I'm not a big fan of the last two albums, the new one is starting to grow on me.
This song belongs on one of those WB shows. Sheryl Crow is actually very musically talented, but she doesn't use it in her own offerings. Personally not my taste in artists.

It's the current "cool" look in illustration at the moment, all you have to do is checkout Rolling Stone mag it's all over the place.
The drawing portion of it is reminiscent of the look of the Revolver album cover.
Have not found one Sheryl Crow song I like.....I always wonder how she remains such a popular artist while others with much more talent languish........

Professionnaly uninspired. Crow's talent make it worse
This is the boring part of Sheryl Crow...who has some material that I love dearly (mostly from The Globe Sessions). This one sounds more like her last studio album, which was her worst, by far. I hope Bill has heard some of the good stuff somewhere along the way and isn't judging Sheryl by "Soak Up The Sun" and "All I Wanna Do".

Hahah, sounds like Bill agrees with you...

Is it just me, or does she look younger with each album?
I liked her raw look from before all the botox. Can't we all just age naturally and love ourselves as we are? Do we have to be so driven by what the media wants us to be? Good greif! Anyway, I find her very interesting. Some of her songs are just brilliant and others are just ho-hum. This one is somewhere in-between with a pretty good groove.
nice cover! A+
I've never been a Sheryl Crow fan, but this song isn't so bad (that's high praise coming from me)

I'm with BillG: unimpressed.

I'm not unumpressed, but I often feel like I get something closer to 80%. I just feel like there is a little more somewhere. But she's always enjoyable, just rarely great.

this is a good thing, if you're mr.armstrong.
I think that depends on how much of it's hollywood magic, and not real life.

Yeah, I wonder why? Last album didn't do much for me, but her first few were wonderful.

Woo-hoo! New Sheryl Crow. Bill says he is "unsurprisingly unimpressed" but this song is pretty cool. I don't care what anyone says, Sheryl is a rock-n-roll goddess.
