you love me to death
but death may love you more
you paint with glaze
but write me without grace
you love me to death
our love was mortal hope
oh you love me to death
but death may love you more
you grow in me
and although we disagree
you love me to death
you can not love me more
the best things in life to find
will not always satisfy
you can love me to death
but I will have to go
oh you love me to death
but I will have to go
oh you love me to death
but I will let you go
oh you love me to death
but I will let you go
oh you love me to death

this woman can't sing
she's flat
it's like she's singing in the dead zone between chest voice and head voice
And, YOU do better? ...give us a list of YOUR ALBUMS!

Since there are several phrases where she nails the notes on-tempo, I think her "sliding up" style from flat to in-key on this is an intentional dissonance that contributes to the sultry/mysterious intention of the song.

She certainly can sing. Listen to their whole catalog. She has an impressive range.
You can dislike her vocals in this song, but that doesn't mean she can't sing.
It'd be like if based on your one comment here, I said you couldn't think... ;P

Lets go brother!!!
Seconded
I have this recurring fantasy.
A ravishing-looking woman
with a dramatic expression and
eyes screwed up is sitting upright
astride me. I am buried deep inside her.
It doesn't matter whether or not she is clothed.
She is singing this song--or maybe Tie a Yellow
Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree--with all her might.
As she hits certain notes and emotional moments in the piece, her vagina contracts around me.
I am immobile.
Don't know how it ends: when the song is over,
I always find myself hoping she picks out another song
and keeps on singing.
Whoa, too much info although I am LOL over Tie a Yellow Ribbon....

Agree. I'd take it over Adele's "Skyfall".

These are the RP forums where we type before we engage our brains to actually learn anything so, most likely, no he/she/it does not. Sad but all too typical for the denizens of these forums.
No wonder you were never a fave...
Bjork — Play Dead
Lana Del Rey — Born to Die
Hooverphonic — You Love Me To Death...
73 and a nice ocean breeze
life is good
Oh Yes! I agree with you completely! I never tire of this song, simply adore it.
Huh? Have you got a clue what this song is about?

For Your Ears Only, Goldfinger.
Surely (sic) Bassey should belt it out.
Yes!
Always liked the Grasshopper more. Not quite so commercial.
Thanks for the tip. The Bulldog is ofcourse a Coffeeshop, but I was referring to the hostel where I was staying. It's quite comfortable and friendly in the hotel. I don't believe I have frequented the Graasshpper yet (though in the fog of Amsterdam bliss, it is entirely possible that I forgot), but I will check it out on my next visit, thank you.
7:05 am Ben Harper Gather 'Round The Stone
The best segue yet, Bill!
Ahhh, The Grasshopper. You've got very good taste. One of my all time favorite places on Planet Earth. Spent many a pleasant hour there, at least I think I did. Hang at the 'Hopper for a few hours then go catch a show at The Milkweg. Good times!
Don't talk shit about KFOG. Try living in this backwater up here in Chico with all this Christian fuckin hick country hillbilly talk radio classical bullshit fucking classic rock radio pulp crap we have to listen up here.
Kfog would be a breath of fresh air!
10:17 am - The Church - Under The Milky Way
10:13 am - Porcupine Tree - Trains
Bill's THE man!
Same three again on Aug 18th around 4:13 PM CDT. Nice trio.
When will you let me go live and let go....
For Your Ears Only, Goldfinger.
