Since there are several phrases where she nails the notes on-tempo, I think her "sliding up" style from flat to in-key on this is an intentional dissonance that contributes to the sultry/mysterious intention of the song.

She certainly can sing. Listen to their whole catalog. She has an impressive range.

You can dislike her vocals in this song, but that doesn't mean she can't sing.

Thanks for the tip. The Bulldog is ofcourse a Coffeeshop, but I was referring to the hostel where I was staying. It's quite comfortable and friendly in the hotel. I don't believe I have frequented the Graasshpper yet (though in the fog of Amsterdam bliss, it is entirely possible that I forgot), but I will check it out on my next visit, thank you.

I bought this cd a month ago or so, and I have to say it wasn't worth the 12 bucks, even if it is two discs. I'd been sort of intrigued by their sound here on rp, but geez it's so monotonous and minimalist. They take themselves so freekin seriously, but they just don't have enough going on musically to justify it. Fortunately it was on a gift card, but still... I'm disappointed.
