When you're near me I have no fear
When I'm untrue you see right through me
You know me as deep as the sea goes
Calm my head whenever a storm blows
When the stars, and the moon,
and the sky fall through
I'd throw them all away when I'm hollow
Deep as the sea goes
All I know is I would
Throw them all away, away
So in my restless hour I'm holding
Words you say that lay my soul to sleep
I dream of buildings that burn
The sky turns black, I toss and turn
When the stars, and the moon,
and the sky fall through
I'd throw them all away when I'm hollow
Deep as the sea goes
All I know is I would
Throw them all away, away
This love branches out like an oak tree
Reach for the sky and roots to the sea
So when you're shaken down and broken
Find your peace of mind in knowing
I'd throw them all away when I'm hollow
Deep as the sea goes
All I know is I would
Throw them all away when I'm hollow
Deep as the sea goes
All I know is I would
Throw them all away, away
When I'm untrue you see right through me
You know me as deep as the sea goes
Calm my head whenever a storm blows
When the stars, and the moon,

I got her to autograph her latest book to my wife for our 35th anniversary. I think it was appreciated.
A hidden nugget by brandi love it william
Saw her as an opening act in 2005 in the Tabernacle in Atlanta and she was like "this place is huge" and when I met her backstage I told her that she was "FANTASTIC" and that I knew she'd make it big . Always liked this song from that night on. Love her voice no matter what she is singing.
Cool performer, but I always wonder whatever would a woman like Brandi and I talk about. Guitars? Farm animals? Jesus? -- Wikipedia says she "... keeps some goats, chickens, a horse, a dog and a cat. She is a Christian and lives in Maple Valley, Washington". No issues with any of that, of course. But not how I would self identify..
2005. WHAT

Music aside, that's a cool photo.
They are rocking out, big time.

Ugh. I just can't. Too histrionic.
I thought it said Belinda when it first came up. Ok definitely better than Belinda but not enough to peak my interest.

Seagulls or not, I'm digging her stuff even more after listening to the rest of the album.
Amazing voice.
Amazing voice.

Now all I hear is "Tea with the seagulls" as well.
Got a nice nautic ring to it, just like the original.

one of the more amazing vocalists these days.
I never cared much for her music but then I saw her on Austin City Limits. Now I kind of like her, she's pretty good live. I think I'd go see her if she ever comes to town.
Blech.
Next song

So many girls with fine vocals goes for that whining, sure beats me why!
It hurts my head.Maybe women folks are less sensitive to that kind of sound.
I would love to hear this chick without it thou !
Terribly whining vocals.

This sure reminds me of "Throw It All Away" by Zero 7, which I like better. But the similarity is striking — had to check to see if they were the same song. Not quite.

Nice mondegreen. Conjures up a nice mental image too :o)
My son thought she was singing "Tea for the Seagulls" (deep as the sea goes).
I never hear the correct words anymore.

Unremarkable.
When i first heard her on the radio I thought she was at least 50 or 60 years old! She's great live!!!
I like her a lot, but wish she wouldn't do the Slim Whitman thing so often ;)

Hey She's Good! What a strong voice.
The cadence of this song reminds me of the song "Falling Slowly" from the film "Once."
Shes hot! Kinda makes the album better. Why is that?
an old fashion song..
I'ld swear I was listening to Cheryl Crow.

Maybe you should wear the trashcan on your head instead.
I first heard this very song on RP last year, bought the album and gave it to my wife.
It's not Norah Jones but in her own unique way Carlile has a powerful voice and tells some decent stories with her lyrics.
Remember; RP = eclectic & electic = RP

who is the bloke on the cover?
She looks like she belongs in Jane Hathaway's bird watching troop. She's much more attractive than that cover picture.
She's wearing a Boy Scout uniform. And she's only reached the rank of Second Class. Interesting.
As for the track, I give it a 6. Nice voice, but nothing special about the song.
throw it in the trash can.

Point, set and match. Well played, deanofox.

Awesome Song
Her singing faintly reminds me of that of Steven Page. This is an excellent song though!
Parts reminded me of Stevie Nicks on a good day.
Okey song, sort of, but too bad RP doesn't have Closer to you. This is her best rack and it makes to sing along and clapping. I love that one - 10, 10, 10.
:)
Nice! Well put together, she has a great voice.
Awayyyyyayyyyyy....
I've had this CD in my car for a few weeks now and I'm not sick of it yet. That's always a good sign for me.
Wonderful song!
Brandi, you're a fine girl. Nice vocals.
Wow - cool vocals and BGs. Well performed.
At least it's not Belinda....
Throw It All Away for ... 10 ...
