Let's have bizarre celebrations.
Let's forget who, forget what, forget where.
We'll have bizarre celebrations
I'll play the Satyr in Cyprus, you the bride being stripped bare.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.

Let's have bizarre celebrations.
Let's forget when, forget what, forget how.
We'll have bizarre celebrations.
We'll play Tristan and Iseult, but make sure I see white sails.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.

Maybe I'll never die, I'll just keep growing younger with you, and you'll grow younger, too.
Now it seems too lovely to be true, but I know the best things always do.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.
Let's pretend we don't exist, let's pretend we're in Antarctica.

Nice vocabulary word! After looking it up - I'm 100% with your comment.

I don’t think it is particularly intelligent or pithy to make a statement about a group as wildly varied as Radio Paradise listeners.

I rate this one an 8 and I do indeed like all of their songs.

No accounting for taste.

Not only did I rate it 9 I went onto Bandcamp and downloaded three of their albums. Great new find, thank you RP :-)

I have to admit that I downvoted your comment simply because that when someone else did, it seemed to peeve you so much. And it seems a bit presumptive to opine for the group. And I kinda liked it...

Can't say I can hear anything particularly  'lo-fi' about this. Every instrument coming over really well, especially the bass.

I suspect that there are serial downvoters - folks who maybe just don't like ANYTHING you (or I, or anyone) say.  Or maybe someone just needs to get laid.

I just went +1 to 8 on this cut, the bass made me do it!

Long Live RP!!

of Montreal is an American indie rock band from Athens, Georgia. It was founded by frontman Kevin Barnes in 1996, named after a failed romance between Barnes and a woman "of Montreal."
Interesting.... {#Think}

The vey best of earworms! Let's pretend we don't exist! I LOVE it. Thanks guys!
Bill, I'm pleasantly surprised by your pronunciation of Quebec. I was raised in Illinois and learned it as "Kwe-bek" but up here it's "Ke-bek" as you said. Not used to that pronunciation from south of the border!
I like the 10 year gap between comments on this song.

Oh Sweet baby Jesus: I thought after the first 20 seconds "Wow, this sounds awfully like a cheery commercial that's going to turn me into a serial killer if I have to listen to it more than once" and

SHO 'NUFF

it's a friggin' Outback commercial. {#Naughty}

Shame! Shame, RP!

Agreed. I'm of a mind that licensing music to adverts is a reasonable--and effective--method of promoting lesser-known artists. That ad completely went over the line though. Talk about whoring yourself out to The Man.
Just bumped my rating from 7 to 8 --- gotta get it for the cover alone.

I don't mind advertisers using cool songs in commercials. They want to associate themselves with something that is hip and it gives the artist some money. I cannot stand the fact that these people changed the lyrics of their song to make it a jingle for Outback. That makes you a jingle writer.
Agreed. That grates on my nerves too.

It's what makes RP eclectic! Wouldn't buy it, but don't mind the diversity it brings.
I wish I could pretend this tune didn't exist.

Uh-oh. Now that they have moved into Outback Steakhouse territory, the song is creeping into Macarana territory...
Will this end?? Ever!?!?!
Why does this sounds like it is a song from the 80s. And I don't mean "sounds like" an 80s song. I mean like I remember hearing it back then, kind of sort of. Is this a remake or a ripoff of another song from then?

I agree. PS: Lyrics are usually messed up. If they're normal, they're un-lyric like. Heh!

the cover art looks like it might have been swiped from a leaflet for a doomsday cult.
They just played in Bumber Shoot this past weekend in Seattle I believe...I am sorry I missed them.

Hmmm. Surprisingly literate lyrics for such a fluffy song.
Wow. This is real shit.
This damn song was in my head this morning when I got out of bed. I have it at a 5, I just don't want to sing it getting out of bed.
Outback restaurant is now using a version of this for their radio ads....
Again? Ugh.

I dunno, there's something about this song that makes me like it. I don't want to ... but there's something about the sparseness of the sounds.

The first time I heard this song, I hated it. Just hated it. Then it started to grow on me, once I let go of that initial impression. Aw, hell, why not? It's catchy in a boppy sort of way, and Antarctica sounds pretty nice this time of year...

Gee, another Sufjan Stevens-like idiotic song title. Tell me this is just a phase that music will soon grow out of. No, it won't. I just remembered "Itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie-polka-dot-bikini."
I love this song! :) The little music video for this song is pretty cool too.

I really had to laugh when I saw that 5 people voted this song "Godlike". What kind of God is this song like? From a psychological point of view I want to know what these people are hearing. Is there some kind of audio version of beer goggles happening here?
I like it...maybe I should look into this band.

okay, they're asking to be pooped on.
Cute until the drums and singing start. Crapfest from then on.
I'm kinda diggin on 'Of Montreal' interesting sound...
Reminds me of the Life Aquatic music when they are giving the tour of the boat.
If I have to listen to this song, I will only do so while watching the animation below! It's the only way I can like this song!
