I was told about a second chance
Now I know it's not a rule in a game called romance
I was fooling around
We lie and we cheat, desire indeed
I knew where this would lead us to when I was fooling around
I was fooling around
No more
No more sweet music
Just straight
Tell me straight
(If you you gotta do what you gotta do)
No more
No more sweet music
Just straight
Tell me straight
We know there is no happy end
But still I'm tempted every time we're fooling around
We are fooling around
Now know there is no second chance
In this last game of romance, too much fooling around
Too much fooling around
No more
No more sweet music
Just straight
Tell me straight
(If you you gotta do what you gotta do)
No more
No more sweet music
Just straight
Tell me straight

Best Coen Brothers movie by far.
When I recommended "The Big Lebowski" to my rather innocent parents, it'd been a while since I'd watched it. I'd forgotten a lot of the craziness and cursing, including the scene in which Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) smashed the crap out of car with a tire iron while bellowing over and over "This is what happens when you FUCK a stranger in the ass!"
I realized my oversight while watching the movie on the tiny screen attached to a gym treadmill. I started muttering "Oh shit" each time Walter bellowed his lesson, which earned me a few odd looks from my sweaty neighbors...
My parents actually liked the movie—my dad still giggles when hears the word "fuck", believe it or not. This still cracks him up:
The Stranger: There's just one thing, Dude.
The Dude: And what's that?
The Stranger: Do you have to use so many cuss words?
The Dude: What the fuck you talking about?
The Stranger: Okay, Dude. Have it your way.

I bought this CD a couple years ago. I think it's an import. Anyway, it has two disks. Same songs on each disk. One is dance (which, to tell you the truth I've never gotten all the way through) and this nice easy listening disk. Kind of a strange idea but to each there own.
Belgian, another country with some great music.
This reminds me of Snowden by Doves.

The singer adds nothing to the original tune... except an annoying whiny voice which follows the leading melody almost exactly, and as a result; gets in the way of a great tune.
So, please make it stop!
This tune always has a sort of early to mid 60s moive soundtrack sound to me..

Funny, I've seen that film twice and completely forgot that this number appeared in it. At the risk of repeating myself, Hooverphonic are the best thing to come out of Belgium after the beer, and before the chocolate, and I'm forever grateful to RP for introducing me to them. Sadly, their lead singer will be leaving the band soon, and IMO she really make their sound and will be very hard to replace.

I'm pretty sure that the actual sample in this song is from a song called Ocean Beach by the Black Mighty Orchestra, which in turn sampled the original Henry Mancini orchestration.

I have two versions of Ocean Beach on my iPod - an upbeat version from a CD called "Departure Lounge" and the slower version used on this track called the "Cybophonia Cinematic Remix" from New World Paris, vol 1. Both are great tracks if you like electronica.
Yes - it is Henry Mancini. It was used in another film too - The Great Lubowski

7 => 6 => 5 and dropping fast. Starting to grate me on repeated listens. Definitely not a fan of the overly loud muzak background.
Ahh..Well Frank first I mis-typed - the film is Sexy BEAST. Septic is cockney rhyming slang for an American - septic tank = you can guess the rest. Of course your housing has probably not had to use such primitive sewage disposal methods for a long while, so you may not know what one is.
But we're only kidding you, of course!

THis is the best music for my being...
Count in the 54 songs before this one, and i'll be awake for some more...
wow I actually thought this was Henry Mancini's Lujon (heard it first on the Big Lebowski soundtrack) and gave it an 8. Too bad it was just a ripoff to start the song (which makes it a 2).

I have a sudden urge to experience Shirley Bassey in all her glory.

any rock climbers here? the orchestral sample they use in this is also used in 'absolute limit' on the end of the big up soundtrack, if i remember correctly.
and the overall treatment there was almost identical, although her vocal style is a little better here.
normally i love finding shared samples or the original tracks, but in both these cases i don't actually like the usage much. hm.
not a bad song, no real complaints.
