something to think about..
This is just cool as hell. What a sound.
This is like a good story where you are trying to capture all of the individual elements, which works well with a good pair of headphones...

I wouldn't forgive him for this one, either, Bill.

Trains are hailed as the solution to all the world's problems? ALL the world's problems? That must be the train to and from Paradise. Is that Amtrak? CSX? The Love Train, by the O'Jays? The Peace Train, by Cat Stevens? The "A" Train as in Duke Ellington's band? I'm a leftie, and I didn't know that trains could solve so many problems. Would they be starting by fixing their own problems? And where can this leftie buy a ticket for this miracle train?
The train is a 19th century technology that was scorned by the Luddites and lefties when it was new. Now, it is hailed as the solution to all the world's problems by, um, lefties.

Shawn Mullins is a Georgia boy? I thought he was Oirish!

Is this the same guy who did that recycled crap pop song "Lullaby"? How is this possible?
Yep, same guy, and he has a lot of other good stuff too. More Shawn Mullins, pu-leeze.

In this case there may be a good chance it is Birmingham, Alabama. Next to Shawn Mullins home state of Georgia.

Good song. Is this a cover of a classic? I've heard about 1,679 country blues tunes like it, about his baby gone and train the goin down the track and the whistle with the slide guitar emulatin' his emotion.
SPOILER ALERT:
More train-themed songs likely forthcoming.

It could be a recurring reference to the civil rights efforts there during the 60's. Just a thought.

Catchy, indeed! I wouldn't have expected this to be Shawn Mullins. Is he re-working an old song?
this song has a sweet charm about it..
Excellent tracklist at the moment Bill! Gets the head bobbing and causes amusement in the office.

I can't believe that was Shawn Mullins! I guess I need to pull myself out of "Soul's Core" and get into his current stuff. Wow. Not rating this yet - I need to suck my thumb a little longer...

Hahahaha — I just had the same thought! Thinking this has that "old-timey" sound to it.
"...Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin...?"
Isn't that very much like the song they perform in "O brother, where art thou?" called "Man of constant sorrow"??

Wow, way more substance (musically) than The Ballad of Katherine Johnson. Dig it, 7

The backing vocals are excellent.
Pretty good; I like the stereo separation - makes me wish I was listening on larger speakers that weren't so close together.
