Sick of the waiting and praying and hoping
Sick of the cold whispered dreams and not knowing
Sick of the strength that it takes to keep going
Sick as I'm losing this fight and it's showing

Aah aah unforgivable but true
Aah aah I'm alone without you

Sick of the fear and sick of the cold
Sick 'cause it's worse for the weak and the old
With two broken legs I'm climbing this hill
Sick of deciding who gets what in my will

Aah aah unforgivable but true
Aah aah I'm alone without you

Sick 'cause I'm stuck on the wrong side of town
And sick 'cause I'm pulling but still sinking down
And sick 'cause I can't turn this whole thing around
And sick 'cause I'm too weak to hunt somebody down

Sick 'cause this hammering litany of sins
Is banging and burning I can't stand the din
Sick 'cause the darkness keeps seeping on in
Sick to be leaving my family and friends

Aah aah unforgivable but true
Aah aah I'm alone without you
Aah aah I'm alone without you

Is that Morello singing?

wow. morello. nice.
Dang it, I've been trying to go have lunch since... Blitzen Trapper,  7 songs ago. Your mix is just too good Bill!
Just play something semi-good, so that I can go eat!
Influence of Springsteen's Ghost Of Tom Joad in this.
sounds like Mark Knopfler
His sessions on "Masterclass" on guitar is very interesting (FYI)

and I gave it a 5. Slowly moving upward — 6 anyone?
What are you on and about? Classic 8 for this lil piggy
If I was a rater, I'd give it a ten, but I'm biased.
If New Model Army did a solo acoustic.... I like this
"I tord I saw a pooty tat" What is it about this vocal that makes me recall good ol' Sylvester?

I just thought the same thing! Definitely hearing a MK influence.
Not familiar with RATM's music but this is pretty nice, and something of a departure, I'm guessing.

100% agreed!  Morello is a very good guitarist, a fact (or opinion? or alt-fact?) that probably goes unnoticed by non-RATM fans (or Audioslave) and hearing this 'mellow' version of him is pretty neat, esp. on RP.  So I say "LONG LIVE RP" and continue to throw us these unexpected tracks!!

Tom Morello rocks, I really enjoy his Nightwatchman project,
Gloomy or not, I liked it.  Nice smooth sound.  An 8 from this old rocker,...not the chair but this graceful old sporty bobbing to the rhythm of the water gently lapping her hull.

Maybe musically a bit, but lyrically this is a little more gloomy than anything I've heard from them; there's no mention of catching "the sparrow" or "cats in the yard", or anything like that.  I used to work with a guy named Tom Morello, not this guy, though.
Nice...very CSN&Yish!

Nice to hear some Nightwatchman on RP!
first?  Bit grumpy lyrics for my taste.  Have a beer, mate...
