Sleep, sleep with the lights on
Shutter and shades drawn
There's too many windows
Noise, cars on the freeway
Tempting a clean break
There's nowhere left to go
Watching the room tweak
Through cracks in the concrete

Plates they will shift
Houses will shake
Fences will drift
We will awake
Only to find
Nothing's the same
Nothing's the same

Home, home is a fire
A burning reminder
Of where we belong, oh
With walls, built up around us
The bricks make me nervous
They're only so strong, though
They're only so strong, though

Plates they will shift
Houses will shake
Fences will drift
We will awake
Only to find
Nothing's the same
Nothing's the same
Nothing's the same
Nothing's the same
As yesterday
As yesterday

At least you're sure someone is listening
I don’t know what it is, but to my ancient, prog rock snob ears, this band really seems to check all the boxes. Really do dig them. Thanks RP!
beautiful. almost haunting.
20+ years ago I went to the "Death and Dismemberment Tour".  My friend was a Death Cab fan, and I was a Dismemberment Plan fan, so we combined our Wonder Twin powers, along with a lot of beer, and saw one helluva show.  I left a DCFC fan, and he left a Dismemberment Plan fan.  Fast-forward to today.  My 19 yr. old son/freshman in college "discovered" DCFC a few years ago (not through my CDs), and he is a huge fan.  I make sure to remind him that I saw them in an awesome, intimate setting when they were only being played on college radio stations (RIP Album 88.5, WRAS in Atlanta).
The lyyrics remind me of the situation on the east coast with hurricanes & such, even though they describe earthquakes.

Good morning. I listen to your Radio from Italy with an AUNA 320BT network player but I don't receive it in Flac but in AAC at 320Kbps. When will I receive it in Flac ??

You need to email RP directly for that info, good luck
Just saw them this past weekend (July 2022) at Summerfest in Milwaukee.
Fantastic show with the bonus of watching Ben come out earlier in the day to do a Husker song with Bob Mould.

Look how far you've come.
What a cool song!

Excellent live band, to my ears.  Thanks for the find, Mr & Mrs G.

musical perfection
Awesome.  Such a great CD.
Great series of plays just now - starting with Pink Floyd (The Wall) and moving through the awesome Choir of Young Believers and then ELP. Love it, well done.
**Spotify - eat your heart out!!
Bill,

You're playing most of my library this aft. Thx!{#Bananajam}

This song is an exception - it's better than the rest. Still - I wouldn't really want to

put it on my record-player, as long as I have a choice!

Quite haunting.  Love the chord progression and overall sound of this cut.... {#Daisy}

thank you RP...without you we wouldn't have discovered some fantastic music -- like this song. You changed our world! Merry Christmas!
Great song, can't get enough oft it!
It's a good song but I've heard it too frequently on RP.  I seem to be wearing out the PSD button lately.  I'm hearing lots of good songs I've heard too much—and others that aren't so hot.  That doesn't make for the seamless flow I enjoy—especially when I have to use it on overplayed songs that also seem overly long (esp. if you're not enjoying them).  Sometimes it takes three clicks to get around one of those. e.g Peter Gabriel & Baaba Maal (& son) "Biko".
I like this track.
Even after hearing it many times. Still ok. Especially the echo 'intermezzo'.

What kind of teens run away to Clemmons, NC, USA? (Not trying to be snarky, I am genuinely curious.  A good buddy grew up in W-S.)
Reminds me of Yes.
Boring and repatative.....anything creative about this song has been blanned-out. Pity, because it could have gone somewhere...

I've liked other things I have heard of theirs on RP but this one doesn't grab me, seems complex without catchiness, there's all this stuff going on in the background but it just doesn't gel.

Yes! :)

Great Band and Music!

Still - neither this song nor the whole album does it for me!

i like this one more and more each time i hear it.
I don't like anything by this band that I have heard...  {#Sad}

how about now?  I'll offer £200 for Thassos.
I love Death Cab, but this is soooooooooooo boring
My ears love the haunting and melodic sounds this song brings!! {#Whistle}

Gotta bump this to an 8.4 !

Their quality is without any doubt!

I am nevertheless disappointed and do not find any entrance into "Codes and Keys".

Too complicated for me, I guess, leave alone it does not "rock" at any moment!

Gurrrreight tune. Really like the atmosphere that's conveyed here.
I wasn't really a fan of DCFC until Narrow Stairs, which became the soundtrack to a very nice road trip. After that I delved a bit into their back catalog and found that despite my prior ambivalence, I actually really enjoyed a majority of their music.  Maybe I didn't like them before because they were so popular (even more so here in the Northwest).

Regardless, it's been nice to hear them continue to evolve musically and try new things. They're not getting stale, and that's a great thing!

Not a huge DCFC fan but I like this. Good stuff
Another great album. My son's girlfriend's recommendation this time.

This album doesn't quite have the same "lyrical imagery" as their previous albums, and it's a little more positive. But I still really like it.

Checked this out from my local Library this week. Excellent CD.
First time I've heard this song. It sounds like Wires by Athlete from a few years back.

Thank for the input, dlaumor. I finally did buy it and am really happy with it as a whole.

All Death Cab for Cutie songs sound the same.  Boring.
I gave it a 7 on first hearing it.  I like it more as I've been hearing it, and I'm in the high 7's now.

Me likey... much more of a Postal Service feel to this new album, although I've found it to be lacking in the lyrical imagery and storytelling I've come to love from the Transatlanticism, Plans, and Narrow Stairs.
