i promised you i'm never giving up,
never giving up, never giving up,
i won't give in
but now that my body's giving up,
my legs are giving out my head is throwing up its hands
it's asking
can we wait for the summer again?
can we hold out for summer again?
will we ever be whole again?

my old house, my childhood's tomb
it is a failing light, but it will come back soon
a candle burns in your old room
and before it goes out, i swear i will find you

my little sister, i was two,
the year that you were born and ben came after you
we all three shared gentle youth
our mother combed our hair, our father cleaned our wounds

then a small thing happened, or sunk its tooth
and i was left behind, in different shapes you move
in my peripheral sight i reach out for you
but when i turn my head i'm in an empty room

a faceless clock, the hands unmoved
but for a layer of dust, a cobweb or two
in a broken mirror i see my broken truths
now when i comb my hair, i pull the gray ones loose

my old house, my childhood's tomb
it is a failing light, but it will come back soon
in the backyard, birds, a dogwood blooms
i will come back home, i will wait for you

i will wait for the summer
i will hold out for summer
i will wait, there's a promise-land
in every man's heart. there is a summer

I took a little divergence from RP to check this band out, and I'm listening to P2 right now - very cool song. So far I'm liking about half of what I've heard from them. A lot of it is pretty unique. Not crazy about the primary vocalist but the arrangements are far from standard fare.

Maybe Adam Duritz  of Counting Crows with the same constricted vocal chord syndrome?

You're right there.  Obscure and hipster they may be, but we're getting loads of this affected vocal behaviour over here these days and it grinds my gears.

Get off my lawn.

This is awful.

Snow Patrol meets Counting Crows maybe?

Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah.

100 % agree with the first part, not so sure about the second. Better than most of SP's output, though.

Liked it at first but as it goes on, I like it a lot less. Cheesy.
I hope summer gets here soon so the whiny bastard will shut up.
I'm getting Explosions in the Sky out of the intro...

If you like this song, you should check out the rest of their stuff. It's all really good, especially "Claws" (Pt 1 & 2).

also, someone below referenced 'creepy' lyrics. There's a verse:

my little sister, I was two
the year that you were born, and Ben came after you
We all three shared gentle youth
our mother combed our hair, our father cleaned our wounds

I was creeped out by the "Ben came after you" line until i realized it just meant that a third sibling was born.

It's a sentimental, but (hopefully) not creepy song if you listen closely.

So this is what passes for music these days.
Sounds like Typhoon.
Sounds a bit like Bonnie Prince Billy?
Sounds like Snow Patrol, which is a good thing!
Wow, the denizens of my trailer park all think this band has a great sound.
Wow. This is great.
Love the groundswell of sound in the beginning - great song- another tunemark !! And the list keeps growing..
Mumford and Sons.......
Typhoon is one of those bands that is just making wonderful human music. Touching, nostalgic, comforting, yet a bit bittersweet... Just wonderful work. I am absolutely in love with this band and everything they've done. A definite 10!

(Please play more Typhoon, RP!)
Yay!!!! The emoticons are back after the RP 2.0 upgrade!!!!   Pukey guy is gone (WTF??).  Oh well.  This post is in celebration.  I am using all the ones I have never used before.   I want the pukey dude back.  That was the best one!!!!!!!!!

Counting Crows was lucky even to be considered mediocre.

Unanimous, so they must be right!  I hope everyone in your hotel room got a good  night's sleep, and kicked butt at the meeting with the client the next day.

Sounds like 3/4 time to my untrained ear.  Anyone know?

His voice reminds me of Adam Duritz, lead singer of the Counting Crows.

I don't find them to be very scary.  Nice little waltz number.

I have not been able to get anything even TOO the LRC except for one song.  Speaking of...  I should go check the last batch of attempts.
