I've never been alone
Long enough to know
If I ever was a child

I was tied up like a boat
On a button like a coat
Set free for the wild
I'd jump to jolt my clumsy blood
While my white, green eyes
Cry like a windowpane
Can my cold heart change
Even out of spite?

I saw
Behind my brain
A haunted stain
It never fades
I hunt
For the kind of pain
I can take

And I cry like a windowpane
Can my cold heart change
Overnight?
So I won't ever want to touch
Your heart too much
Or hold you too tight

I saw
Behind my brain
A haunted stain
It never fades
I hunt
For the kind of pain
I can take

I never was alone
Long enough to know
If I ever was a child

If I could award this track 11/10 then I would. Its absolutely wonderful. Really love The George Harrison vibes to the slide guitar, the quiet Lennon vocals, the Macca feel to the bass. I also like The Beatles, which I guess might help. Wilco are one of the few modern bands that are really pushing the boundaries and going with whatever they see fit to create. Got to love that!

And.....What an album title; "Wilco Schmilco".

Sort of like Nilsson Schmillson!
Good tune. Not my type of music. I gave it a 7 & will give it furthers listens to decide.  A lot of people here, seem to really like it. Everybody has different  tastes.  Thanx RP!

... I prefer Rhonda & Room Service #LarryDallas
Roger!
Skipping it
So impressed with the volume of superb music this band has put out over the years. Nothing too flashy here, but a nice, catchy melody. I'm a big fan.
A blast from the past:

I've seen Jeff Tweedy at the Shop of Master Luthier John Thayer in Manette. Washington - who has made guitars for Mr. Tweedy, who most definitely does not 'suck', and in fact is a Wonderful Man.
Wilco is a Fantastic Band.

I could hear it again.
Wilco seems to age well, 7 for now
Wilco live is always a 10
An homage to Nilsson (Schmilsson?)
Geeez.

This band use to be a a very good RnR band. Wrote compelling songs.

They seem to be evolving into a muzak band.
yeah, new Wilco

go see them if you'd get the chance
