I'm gonna live
Don't know if I'll find a place
I'd have to think about it some
Amd that I do not wish to face
I guess that I'm counting on his
Divine intervention
I cannot understand my god
I don't know why it gets to me
One day my life
Is filled with joy
And then we find we disagree
All depending on his
Divine intervention
Alright
We're all counting on his...
Does he love us?
Does he love us?
Does he love us?
Does he love us?
Hmm now…
The bass sound on this entire album is big and fat and round and fantastic. Guitars? A little jagged, a little weird, all kinds of great. Nineties power-alt-pop at its best.
agreed!
Everybody know this is nowhere....
RP is playing a lot of strange music these days, are they trying to please all the people all the time? Not a good idea.
Are you saying that Matthew Street is "strange music" ? FYI, this whole lp f#ckin rocks. Get a life and listen to your music elsewhere. You have no taste.
this song is awesome! of course, i love it all.
if he ever tours again, i promise - you won't regret his live shows. it's so much fun!!!!
Had just got a new stereo when this came out in '91 and I BLASTED this.
Yep. My very top-most least-favorite production trick. If that's truly the artist's vision, then they're wrong. So says I, anyway. And I'm the one with the knobs ;-)
Thanks for the chuckles, and I fully agree that 'fade and return' is silly. I also don't care for the 'hidden tracks' that CDs allowed. Anyone remember those? Green Day I think had one, can't remember who else did that though.
Long Live RP!! (and keep knobbing on ;-)
One of my favorite "hidden" gem purchases back in the day (early 90s)
Still have the CD somewhere.
Long live RP for playing this!!
...Bill, you didn't play the fade out and return at the end of the track!

Gotta love Wikipedia! About this album ...
"The cover of the album features a photograph of actress Tuesday Weld from the late 1950s. Originally called Nothing Lasts, the album was retitled following objections to the title from Weld."
Some folks have the power of influence.
So that's where Jack White got his bonnet inspiration.
but it needs some help getting outta the "6's".....so, 8!
And God of protestants that's the riches are the rights...
Anyway, I dont't care these notions of good and evil !
Lead guitar by the great Richard Lloyd of Television.
I bought this album when it came out and my friends were like, "What? this is garage band BS!" I 'm like, "No, It's just so weird" In a great way!
Same here!
Me 3! I read a comment on another post that he must have had a really shitty manager/promoter, because he should have been bigger than he was. Totally agree with that too! Definitely had some great songs.

Indeed, and this is only Tuesday!
And that is Tuesday on the album cover!
Yes, I saw him a few years back where he played the entire Girlfriend album. It was wonderful, actually better than I expected. I got to meet him after the show and he was a really genuine guy. I hope you go.
Seems pretty harsh as it's only been played twice in the last 30 days, and this is maybe the first time I've heard it in a while. For nostalgia around this entire album I'll still give it a 7
Indeed, and this is only Tuesday!
I see what you did there...

Perfect for this "Friday" afternoon of my week. "Girlfriend" was one of the best albums of the '90s.

She's got no neck...
She has a neck, honest:
Suddenly, I've developed this strange...neck fetish. *slurp *drool
Same here!
Probably because it's old as hell. Kinda like me.

There were a few tunes I didnt like so much but most of them are amazing. Super creative music and lyrics.
Thanks Bill you always seem to dig up the good stuff man!!

Tuesday Weld had a neck, honest:
Cool tune - Robert Quine and Richard Lloyd trading solos on this tune if I remember correctly.
