The sun fell, another night began.
Shots rang out, all the people ran.
Confident in our innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.
The martyred sons of a forgotten fit.
Bend a knee for your favorite.
So foolish in their innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
It's not too late to turn your back on them.
What kind of friend would lead you to your death?
Don't be foolish in your innocence.
Break the promise in the wilderness.
I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would,
I know
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would...

This song was my first submission a couple of weeks ago. I just came home from work, turned on RP and heard it for the first time. I'm really happy that it was accepted and that you guys seem to like it.

Sounds a lot like the Alarma circa 1988
I think this would hit the spot with all you War on Drugs enthusiasts.
The wildness struggling to break out in this song is appealing.
wow. i really, really like this. first listen.
We hired them to play our craft beer and music festival a few years back, they were excellent live. One of those "under the radar" type bands with big talent.

Exactly.
I like the music, and like several others have said, it's similar in sound to The War on Drugs (or actually the other way around, since this came before that), and I like the build-up in the song ... but there could've been so much more rather than simply repeating "Hold my end up" ... just got annoying at one point. So I can only give the song a 5, while being open to hearing more from them.

A nine for me.
My only song suggestion that ever got accepted.
Glad that it's still being played more than 2 years later and that it managed to surpass the 7.0 rating.
A nine for me.

Great song, thanks. Pretty awesome acoustic version here from 2014: Delta Sprit - WFUV session

this gets better and better everytime I hear it.
(a bit of U2 and a touch of Coldplay, but decently darker)

This song sticks with me long after it ends. Great tune.
This tune is deeply dark and yet so beautiful....
They don’t seem to like their drummer very much. Way back in the mix.
Love the atmosphere created here! Reminiscent of a less direct "War on Drugs".
Good suggestion...I really enjoy it. I've suggested several songs with none being accepted...I gave up suggesting music...but I still LOVE RP quintana wrote:

I just rated it a 7 out of the gate. Got my attention right away with the lovely 'atmospherics'. Terrific build late song; this song inhabits its own sonic space. There is a earnest quality to the song of the kind that provides a great antidote to the current weary cynicism that surrounds us.
quintana: Thanks for suggesting. Be patient, I expect the following for this song build.

I'm a peaceful chap, but this song builds so well, it turns me into a Tasmanian Devil and makes me want bounce about the room. Love the passion in his voice.

This is really good!
What great radio
rate 8
This is brilliant. Love the way it builds, and the intent in his voice. Sounds very genuine. The howls of a heavily betrayed man. Nicely done.
Another great discovery. 7 straight from the box on first listen. I might even slip it an 8. Thanks again, RP.

Ehhh... not my thing. Overdramatic indie-rock that's light on melody and musicianship. Plus, the drums are annoying. Use some hi-hats.
Oh we love this in Manchester UK. Great track. Thank you RP

There is definitely something here that is reminiscent of the breakthrough power and presence of early U2.
That's a compliment by the way!
