All my love and all my heart go with you
Just look into my eyes and what can you see?
But all my love and all the time keep with me
I'll keep it with me
Someday soon you'll know how it feels to love someone
Someday soon you'll know how it feels to trust someone
Seven days and seven nights have fallen
Empty streets and bright lights he's walking
So why is it the ones we love we can't trust?
We can't trust
Because someday soon you'll know how it feels to love someone
Someday soon you'll know how it feels to trust someone To trust someone
It's been a while since I loved someone
Just look into my eyes and what can you see?
But all my love and all the time keep with me
I'll keep it with me
Someday soon you'll know how it feels to love someone

the Doves are so great!
Kinda sorta reminds me of Del Amitri.
Had not heard this one before. Surprised no one in the comments mentioned "Kingdom of Rust" but then I realized the last comment was 12 yeas ago! Thanks for bring it back Bill!

As mentioned before, start with the Lost Souls, or Last Broadcast. This CD just didn't flow as nicely as those two.

I agree completely.

I've always felt the same way, but it's grown on me. I really like this song.
Ah, two great songs in a row. Not that I should be surprised, but you are making my afternoon. Thank you!

Peter Gabriel was the first thing that came to mind when I heard this one. Glad I'm not alone.
Me too, especially during first seconds.
Doves are great and "Caught by the river" is the best!
This is the tune the Supreme Court is listening to as they debate "Bong Hits 4 Jesus".

Perfect!
great song
Following the Devlins is not a good thing for this band. Really shows up the weaknesses. Agree with "playing it safe" comment. Ultimately devoid of energy and unsatisfying.
Update after second listen in Sept. I'm with miahfost. This IS dreck.
Love this band so much. They could give Radiohead a run for their money but I think they are holding back a bit. Last Broadcast was a wicked album. I like Some Cities but find it more commercial overall. Not like that's bad. Gotta make a living. But I like the artistic commitment on Last Broadcast.
This song is great.

Good stuff. For a second there from a distance, he sounded like Peter Gabriel!
So which is it?
What wearisome dreck.

Good song. Good CD, too.
First band I discovered on RP, back in 2002. I still feel like these guys are holding back. The Last Broadcast was an awesome, forward thinking album. I haven't heard anything off this one that would make me think its any different, and thats not meant as a compliment.
Maybe I'm setting my expectations too high, but these guys seem to be stuck in a groove and are playing it safe, when they should be innovating.
I love this album. One of the few albums, by anyone, I could listen to right through and love.
RP helps make sure the Universe keeps expanding. I sure don't want it to fall back in on itself again...
I get hopeful about things when I hear new grooves on RP...
But then I remember a few details about the present -- it's tense!
Now if we can just get King George out of the damn cockpit! I fear he's Set the Controls for The Heart of the Sun...
Somebody plug that whole uptight bunch into RP, please!

That's a good suggestion although I'd start with either Lost Souls or Some Cities. Those two discs are more similar whereas TLB is a little more radio friendly. Listening to TLB first might give the listener the wrong impression of what the band's sound is really like.
Actually, that's why I said TLB. Lost Souls is a favorite of mine also, but I haven't gotten into Som Cities as much. And I think that the tone of TLB is a good entry album.

i said it before, i'll say it again.
imagine your cyberspace without radio paradise (quiver with pain here). it's a nasty thought. your world would be dimminished in a very tangible way. if you've not contributed to the february fundraiser, give it a thought. it's easy to do. and imagine the alternative (or lack of one).
Most excellent!
Gave it a 10. Everything these guys do is gold.

I'm with another poster. Rate the song the way it is, not what fits in your perl script. It's not like there's a quota on how many of any number you can give...
There was a quota, and Bill PM'd me that I just rated too many records according to those quota :)
Quota's have been raised, I'm now using the full range again.

This one's an 8, for the record.

I'm somewhat addicted to statistics, and I'd like to be able to check what I rated.
RP allows us to see high rated songs 10-7 (like in https://www.radioparadise.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=profile&mode=viewprofile&u=22794&showdata=ratehigh ) or low rated songs (like in https://www.radioparadise.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=profile&mode=viewprofile&u=22794&showdata=ratelow ), but the interface currently available does not allow me to see what I rated 5 or 6
I also care about my `spread': did I rate more high than low or vice-versa. How many records did I rate, and other comparisons. See https://www.radioparadise.com/modules.php?name=Journal&file=display&jid=2684 for a more detailed info on how to do it.
Yes, maybe it sucks, but that is my reason not to give 5 and 6 for as long as I cannot fetch it back.

Or else I misunderstand you - explain please?

:D
This is not my favorite song on this album, but it's still Doves so I won't complain!
:D :D
The Doves are on my mute list, but this song gets a 7 (I want to give a 6, but 5 and 6 are untraceable for my stats, so I don't give 5 and 6 anymore)

I really dig this song. Of course I'm a sucker for songs with a time signature that's a multiple of 3...something about it just gets in my heart and head.
Doves are good.
On the basis of this song, at least, it sounds like they've stuck with the sound they developed on Last Broadcast.
Works for me.
New Doves CD out tomorrow. Can't wait....
woo hoo. love doves. please play more.
