Let the sea sink
Let the earth shake
Let the sun blink
Let the universe
Go spinning free
If my darling
Ever leaves me
Let the air freeze
Let the moon cry
Let the stars go out
Let the world die
Let the eyes go blind
Let the grass turn blue
If I ever
Think of leaving you
Let our love be
With our minds free
Let our hearts beat
Let our eyes see
Let the universe
Share our love

was he not the best guitarist in that period. Outside of Dwane Allman.
Use to have these discussions driving a 1965 Impala with no heat in Feb...but would add another 10 guitarists to the list.
It bangs! A 9 for me.
Thanks RP!
Not heard this in a while. I always think it is Morphine at first.
WTF? I guess you don't realize that Morphine was a combo or trio at the most. They've never had a guitarist.
Morphine =
Drummer + Bass/Vocal
or
Drummer + Bass/Vocal + Sax
That's it.
Guter Song. Aber das Gitarrensolo erinnert doch sehr stark an "Oh, sweet nuthin'" von Velvet Underground.
Du meinst "inspiriert", aber deswegen nicht schlechter, oder?
Which brings me to the performances and song craftmanship, masterful.
Alvin Lee. Underrated guitar God.
I Agree!!
My buddy hadda '67 Plymouth Valiant...Slant six an' it used more oil than
gas but wouldn't die...;-)

Had a '68 Dodge Dart with that same engine. One of the best engines ever. INDESTRUCTIBLE and surprisingly fast. Beat my buddies Mach 1 once with a rolling start on Oakland Park Blvd at 2 am. He still wont admit it.
Sounds like Mark Sandman of Morphine. Cool song.
Ten Years After was 1st! Maybe, Mark was a fan. I love both bands!
Shout out to TFG, aka "That Fucking Gabbert," from St. Louis, for educating us underclassmen at UMR back in the early '80s... No matter the grumbling, he would insist that cuts from this album be played at nearly every gathering. Some folks wanted to hear insipid things from commercial radio, you understand...but John would gently but firmly set us on the proper path to Rock Enlightenment. I count myself lucky and blessed to have seen Mr. Lee rock us to Heaven at The Rainbow in Denver back in Fall of '83; truly a masterful talent! His spirit lives on, and here's hoping that Enlightenment is still within reach of all!
Long Live TFG and the Rock Enlightenment that lives within each and everyone of us!! LLRP
50 years ago a social studies teacher slapped a set of headphones on my noggin and plugged me into a Space in Time. Best thing a teacher ever did for me in my entire life.
Totally Cool!!
Excellent!!
I agree!!
Sounds like one of my favorite Stephen Wright jokes: "A buddy and I took a cross-country trip last summer...we only brought one casette for music...I can't remember what it was.
Funny! I had a Trans Am with two 8 track tapes, Al Kooper's Blues Project and a lesser known Allman Brothers album, the one that contained "It Ain't Over Yet." That might have actually been the album's name too.
1971 - high school. A 1967 Plymouth, a tape deck, and two buddies. Driving around every night listening to the same three 8 tracks!
POCO - From The Inside; James Taylor - Mud Slide Slim; and this tape - I know the 25 or so tunes on those three albums backwards.
Great memories.

Nearly Fifty Years After and still great

Stimmt!
Schöne Grüße zu Bayern von den Verrückten Amerikanen!
Mach's Gut!
Alvin Lee's guitar pyrotechnics gave them top billing. They did not disappoint. Took the roof off the place with "I'm Going Home".

I have very fond memories of a concert back in 1983 in Basel. I think they were back together for a tour and the guys were in a great mood and enjoyed playing. The venue was in a small football stadium and after the concert they signed autographs. They were relaxed and exchanged a few words with the fans before signing. Still have that double-album.

Great memories.
They are also cool forward.

Yes! Another of these tunes that will make you stop the email you're writing or the paper you're reading for a bit of comment reading
Groovy tune !! Thanks!

Misplaced comment from the song before, Love Interruption.

This was actually a really good album back in the day. Haven't heard this in years so I think a trip back in time is definitely in order.
Hey Sunflowerbee, greetings from the other Hillsborough... in County Down, Northern Ireland.
We have a local rock festival called the Sunflowerfest which nicely links us both
I just about remember listening to Ten Years After albums in a friend's house after school when I was about 16 or 17. Still sounds good to my ears too!
Agree.
and...remarkably awesome, like I'd love to Change the World, Once there was a Time, and the best: I 've been there too
Agree.
Looking at Wikipedia and it seems that “Between 1968 and 1973,Ten Years After scored eight Top 40 albums on the UK”. I hadn’t realised how big they were back in the day!
if there is a connecting vibe Bill will find it
thank you! made my morning much more enjoyable!
Then you probably also enjoyed Alvin Lee's Ten Years Later.
I mean cmon on fellas you can't blame all ur looks on hair styles and poor facial hair choices!
You know what would have been really ugly? If they'd had shaved heads and goaties/stupid looking beards like the nimrods today.
'69 to about '73 is such a nice sweet spot in rock music.
the whole album is an 11!

I've never heard of these guys...but grew up with this era of music. I agree - Thank You Radio Paradise!!!
One of the less acknowledged benefits of listening to Radio Paradise is that you often hear music that you dismissed during the foolishness of youth. Over the years I have pulled several records/DVD’s from my collection that I didn’t get back in the day.
If only I could have a second chance at other aspect of my life that I got wrong as a young man!
