Always a riddle in the world she says
always a riddle inside my head
always a thing to wonder the way we come to be
oh it's a big old place for me, it's a big old world indeed
everyone is killing me and everything conspires

oh in dreams i have watched it spin
see a violent crack of atoms were all that comes in
oh in dreams i have lain in sin just to be the cracked and the cared for

how can i ask, ask for more?

always a riddle in the world she says
always a riddle inside my head
always a thing to wonder in the way come to be
oh it's a big old world for me
it's a big old world indeed
kicking my heels and wondering how I've been here so long

oh in dreams i have watched it spin
see a violent crack of atoms were all that comes in
oh in dreams i saw Aesop's kin
just a carcass of a man, i belong inside his skin

mmmm mmmmm mmmm

where to, where to begin?

i live alone now, i live alone in life with out you here

i may be troubled but I'm gracious in defeat
Oh i may be troubled but I'm gracious in defeat

It's a year later and guess who's coming to Seattle in 2024? BEN HOWARD! And guess who's going? WE ARE!

An amazing talent from Devon UK. Ben cites John Martyn as a major influence, and it shows in this album. Highly recommended for trippy listening.{#Sunny}

John Martyn influences?  Gotta doubt that -- Mr Howard enunciates wonderfully!.

I have always heard the outro lyrics as "I live a lonely life without you." I would wager that "I live alone in life with out [sic] you here" is incorrect.
This could almost be the band "Other Lives".
Este muchacho tiene lo suyo. good for him. ( and us)
Eerie and provocative.

"Shhhh" by 10 Years After is trippy
Limp lameness put into song.
am hearing a Loreena McKennitt thread here... the Highwayman?

How do you mean "John Smith did it first"?  Did what first?  Played guitar? Sang? Or wrote and played this song?
The picture on this album reminds me of Michael Meyers from the Halloween franchise.  (point of fact: the mask in the movie was made by spray painting a store bought William Shatner costume mask.  I know, right?  So random)

I have a downloaded stream playing out in my work area, and this "live" stream in my office and both are playing this song.
edit:
Dandy Warhols  followed out in the work area,  Mike Oldfield here in the office.

Love me some Mike Oldfield! Ben Howard was fun also...

Heard a lot about this guy but not his music much. If this is what the fuss is about I for one totally get it.  Good stuff.
Wow!  Superb.  I'm hearing a cross between José González and Calexico.  I've been really enjoying the other songs by this guy on RP, definitely starting to recognize the name.  I think he just moved up near the top of "the list" for me!
first hearing : very positive impression, nice voice and (country?) background music, yet energy and harmony.... it makes me curious to hear more of what he has done :)
Love it!
I really am liking this just now.
WOW, love it.
First play for this.....like so far!
