Bitterness, was right on her tongue
With her legs, painted like the drum
Loneliness, couldn’t do no harm
Nor the kiss, of her scented balm
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Heaviness of this heart shut wide
Now my flesh, at arms with my pride
Her long dress, left no room to pry
So i confess to the gods of time
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Oooaah, there goes my innocence
Oooaah, there goes my innocence
Oooaah, there goes my innocence
Oooaah, there goes my innocence
With her legs, painted like the drum
Loneliness, couldn’t do no harm
Nor the kiss, of her scented balm
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Oh honey I’m just getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Getting good at saying goodbye
Heaviness of this heart shut wide

Like goose bumps, but more palpable. Chicken skin sounds better than chicken bumps. Just sayin'

8>9 - yep... it feels good this one.
Another one I did not know about but now sticks in my head for days,
Please play more tunes from this album!! Thank You!
Bill first introduced this to the lineup just after my wife passed on to the great beyond.
Love it, but it tears' and tear's me up every time!

one of my favorite songs on a great, unique album
I always believed the chanting at the end of "Fearless" was played backwards. Any thoughts?
I can't just stop listening to it! Unfortunately it reminds me of a lost love...
SUPERB!!! I never heard of him prior to RP. The more I hear this, the more I like it! Thank You RP!

Agree with all the comments. This song stops me in my track and compels me to listen.
Just want to reassure everyone that he says "scented balm" and not "scented bum" like I originally thought.

wow - first time hearing this while actively listening and I love it
Every time I hear this song, I feel compelled to rate it higher. His voice plucks the strings of my soul in all the right ways. And these lyrics are *chef's kiss*
A poignant feat to accomplish without an awareness of the fact that we are.
"The kiss of her scented bum"?? That'll take your innocence away!

Every time I hear this it stays in my head the rest of the day.
What a voice!
Serene and uplifting despite, perhaps, the tone of the lyrics. 🙏
Been quite a while since I've encountered music to this degree that makes me stop whatever else I'm doing and pay rapt attention. Thank you, Ondara. You may have won the green card lottery, but it is America that is so lucky to have you here.
You had me 4 bars in. Took my breath away . God Bless You mate. Stay strong, we’re with you out here / hear ? 💋
I love his songs. If only he'd stop the falsetto caterwauling in some of them.
My first time hearing this. What a beautiful, strange song.
Spellbinding.
Cooler than a popsicle on a hot summer day. Great voice!
Got the CD and am so impressed - very soulful singer and storyteller.
Bump 7 to 8. Really into this today...
Everything he does is great! ...Fantastic voice!

Had the same thought at first, but in my mind his voice also evoked Chris Isaak, which I think a few other comments pointed out. But so distinct and fantastic vocal stylings.
I see he's supporting the Lumineers on tour now. Why has this guy not yet come to Austin? Unless I missed it, which is totally possible
What a great show that would be! Might have to pop up to Montreal to see that one...
Had the same thought at first, but in my mind his voice also evoked Chris Isaak, which I think a few other comments pointed out. But so distinct and fantastic vocal stylings.

He ain't no Roy Orbison but I like the song nonetheless

Bill - I don't know how you do it, but my hat is off to you for continuing to find such great new artists. I saw JS Ondara perform last year as a warm up act for another local artist in Minneapolis. AMAZING!!! This guy deserves every bit of success that comes his way. Can't wait to hear him again on RP!!
wow. new to me. Thanks for this
Great gem bill thanks
There is that rare, elusive "something" there. One to watch, for sure.

I was able to see him play the Troubadour in Los Angeles last night. His voice is captivating! Apparently, he is working with producer / power pop artist, Mike Viola, on his 2nd album. That should make for an interesting mixture of sounds.
I whole-heartedly agree and, having been born in Nairobi myself, already feel an affinity with this very talented singer-song writer...
great find Bill!
just saw this artist on CBS This Morning on Saturday and love him! He has a great "origin" story and clearly is very talented. Leave it to RP to get him in rotation for all of us. Thank you, Bill!!
