For the younger peeps in the audience, the sound chip on the C64 was a game changer (literally). I suspect it inspired many a synth artist in the 80s, and this tune, really does have a that 8-bit sound.  Love it.

The synth loop totally reminds me of several remixes Reyn Ouwehand has done of Martin Galway's classic intro tune of the 1986 game Green Beret (for the Commodore 64). Here is one of Reyn's latest interpretations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxgpBcXpbpk&t=2280s
