Mm
Mm
Ooh
I-I-I, I-I-I
Ooh
I-I-I, I-I-I
3 a.m., wide awake again
And you come to me, though you never leave
Wrapped in lace, paper crown
Wonder of you still, have you found firm ground?
When caged birds get to sing
Does anybody hear them when they do?
When caged birds get to fly
Does anybody ever question why?
Sometimes, when I'm awake at night
I think about it, the story of you
Sometimes, when I'm awake at night
I think about it, the things that we lose
Too soon, too soon
Too soon, mm
I think about the things that we lose too soon
Ooh
I-I-I, I-I-I
4 a.m., so we talk again
Slipped your heart in these hands, broken soul, hallowed land
So long alone, our shadows cast in stone
Every version of you, the ones I'm told, the ones I knew
When caged birds get to sing
Does anybody hear them when they do?
When caged birds get to fly
Does anybody ever question why?
Sometimes, when I'm awake at night
I think about it, the story of you
Sometimes, when I'm awake at night
I think about it, the things that we lose
Too soon, too soon (ooh)
Too soon, like you (I-I-I, I-I-I)
I think about the things that we lose too soon
Ooh
I-I-I, I-I-I
Ooh
I-I-I, I-I-I

What a lovely song. Nice of Bastille to sit back and let the other singer lead. They did what was right for the song

Who is singing this one?

I became familiar with Bastille from an old YT channel called Watch Listen Tell. They performed a great a cappella  version of their song Overjoyed (link), from 12 years ago.

Lots of great stuff on that channel, including early looks at Ben Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, and many others that would be welcome here.
