Purple haze all in my brain
Lately things don't seem the same
Actin' funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky
Purple haze all around
Don't know if I'm comin' up or down
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me
Help me
Help me
Oh, no, no
Hammerin'
Talkin' 'bout heart 'n' s-soul
I'm talkin' about hard stuff
If everybody's still around, fluff and ease, if
So far out my mind
Something's happening, something's happening
Ooo, ahhh
Ooo, ahhh
Ooo, ahhh
Ooo, ahhh, yeah!
Purple haze all in my eyes, uhh
Don't know if it's day or night
You got me blowin', blowin' my mind
Is it tomorrow or just the end of time?
Ooh
Help me
Ahh, yea-yeah, purple haze, yeah
Oh, no, oh
Oh, help me
Tell me, baby, tell me
I can't go on like this
You're makin' me blow my mind, mama
N-no, nooo
No, it's painful, baby
Lately things don't seem the same
Actin' funny, but I don't know why
'Scuse me while I kiss the sky
Purple haze all around
Don't know if I'm comin' up or down
Am I happy or in misery?

Working on playing this song lately, and I'm blown away by the virtuosity of the composing. For 3-4 minutes of musical perfection there's nothing short of Purple Haze at any time or place, imo. Not Bach, not Mozart, not Miles Davis, not Beatles. Comparable, yes, but not better. And I love how rooted it is in the blues tradition.
One candidate for a new and vastly more appropriate Donald Trump campaign song. What's better yet? Folsom Prison Blues? We can hope, can't we?
70's Rock at it's best!
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be salsa dancing to this fruitcake cover version—
THE MASTER!
What a refreshing song, after that Muse thing.
These guys rock, who are they!
Not the album cover I have.. really who cares.
Still get chills
The Man was the BEST
Easy ten

"'Scuse me while I kiss this guy" - sure thing, Jimi, go ahead and do your thang. No tongues, now :o)
I saw Jimi Hendrix several times in concert an went Wood Stock. I was around back then. He was the greatest guitar player of all time. So sorry Eric Clapton he's got it all over you.
Play. More. Often.
changed rock and roll forever, sorry Elvis, you were a changing force too
This hasn't been played here in nearly a year......
Wow! Who's this guy? Never quite heard a guitar sound like that before!

Yup he coughs. I heard it too.

is it sacrilege to admit to liking the zappa version too?
It's never wrong to admit liking Frank!
The Cure does a couple of covers of this, one slow and trippy and another more rocking. Both are very good, giving due honor to the original but at the same time, definitely the Cure's!

OY! How about leaving this stuff to XM Radio's decades channels? Just because it is a classic, doesn't mean we 'need' it here. Enough OLD music. Sorry, I mean classics.
Glorious & wonderful assualt on the senses.
Clearly, one of the 10 greatest singles ever!!
...He never played
Purple Haze??
Hey, this Hendrix guy is kinda good...got anymore?
excuse me while I kiss this guy!

What an awesome, ground-breaking song. Further, Mitch Mitchell is a vastly under appreciated drummer, imho.
AUG 05 then MAR 07 ????? Forgot you had this?
10 & 10 & 10 & 10......
Clevs, using Purple Haze to follow a song from the Purple album. Clevs, indeed.
This is a pretty good rock song. :) Now if only Led Zeppelin could sound so good!
