Come closer and see
See into the trees
Find the girl
If you can
Come closer and see
See into the dark
Just follow your eyes
Just follow your eyes

I hear her voice
Calling my name
The sound is deep
In the dark
I hear her voice
And start to run
Into the trees
Into the trees

Into the trees

Suddenly I stop
But I know it's too late
I'm lost in a forest
All alone
The girl was never there
It's always the same
I'm running towards nothing
Again and again and again and again

Being gloomy and downvoting their video clip, I expect.
I'm so sorry but I like this Version !
why? this is like throwing pineapple juice and a steak in a blender

This band, in its myriad music masks, is epic.

Are the 16 downvotes on this post from the people in the video?
Seems like it should be a good song, but it is repetitive in sort of an annoying way.

i had to go look who this was, I liked it so much. and to find out it was the maudlin Cure.....!
fantastic...
This is all well and good but I'll take the original version any day.

Very little can even get near to touching this.

Agreed. Although this is fine.
The crowd at the Berlin  show I was at last Fall went absolutely wild for this song.

That's why it's genius
This is great. The original is great. I don't see why they can't both be great at the same time. Well not literally at the same time, but you know what I mean.
recently discovered that there's some really excellent live versions of this on youtube.
Lovely palette cleanser after "Humankind" by Coldplay.  Thanks RP.  My feet are tapping again.

I AGREE!  GREAT TUNE! ...annoying clicking noise!
Been a fan of the band since the early 80s and loved the original. Have to admit I wasn't a fan when this came out in my Uni years but I've grown to love it over the years. I hear the darkness alongside the upbeat tempo of 1990 Britain (Stone Roses, the Mondays and all). Lets dance to this at the end of times... should be along soon the way things are looking ;)
SuPeRcUrE !
why this annoying re-mix?
Great tune, except for that annoying clicking noise!
Had to add 1 to the 8 to = 9 cause every time RP plays this I get a significant nostalgia boost!
I steel loving The Cure.

Perfect picture for this moment.
KIck.  Ass.
Actually this  song  is recorded from scratch on Mixed Up album, its not mixed version of original.
Original master tape of A Forest was lost.
Gave 10 quickly in the intro, as I thought it is the original version, but still.

Disagree. One version is great for at home while you're burning your incense and writing poems and the other is great for when you're at the goth club and you wanna get all the perky goths up, dancing, and buying drinks.

On the other hand. . . I class this as a wonderful interpretation of the track and love it to pieces. Thus, I have the Yang to your Yin. . . or something
My fave Cure song...prefer slower version ..cool bass line
HA HA HA!

Also, does anyone know who Anna Gayne is?

Good stuff but all these Cure tunes were mixed up quite well enough the first time for me and the remixes all come a little shy of the originals.
Love the original but this is very good too!
not heard this version before.
Not always big on these remixes, but...this is great!
Cool!! I never cared a ton for this song, but this remix works for me. I really should grab a copy of Mixed Up...
These chaps can do no wrong in my book.  Play some more, please!  Big fat 10 from my office, all around.

OK, I understand the high scores, but I see no point in this mix. The original as much, much better. It was darker, this sounds a bit lame. So, sorry, I cannot give it high score, knowing how the original sounded.

Given a choice I would (always) opt for the original...

This version just stretches like a bubble gum.
Great Band, great song, mediocre version.
Don't normally like Cure or Robert Smith. I do like this though...perhaps its because it doesn't have RS wailing around throughout the song. Could almost be a DCFC instrumental.
The "tree mix" was interesting when it was released, but for me it just doesn't hold up any more.  The original has aged better.
Love this song!
Very nice in this "tree" mix!
Thanks!

you and I may have different ideas of what is meant by a 'great rack'. What I think of as a great rack cannot be ruined by a computer, unless the computer is large and blocks the view, or heavy and squashes it.

Yes!  PLEASE stop playing this version.  This seems to be the only Cure I hear on RP and I want the original!!!
Simon rocks

This was the only Cure song on this album that I liked remixed.  It's great.

Not entirely unexplainable considering Steven's previous cover version... Therefore, Puncture Wound might qualify as an obvious tribute rather than a blatant and shameless rip-off {#Wink}

Original = one of the Cure's best songs

This - really annoying at times and loses points from there for making me want to hear the original version even more.

TOTALLY AGREE.  the whole album 'seventeen seconds' was a masterpiece, and a largely overlooked work by the Cure...

Not sure about this particular mix - but the original version is a great track {#Bananajam}

I love The Cure, but Wish was their last great album. Wild Mood Swings was decent. Bloodflowers was blah. I didn't even listen to their last album.
