Water falling down a hundred meters
Coloured by the sun
In rainbow colors
Paul is driving me around
Through fields of light
Blinded by the sun
Fight the clouds
Be an inhaler
Have no doubts
Let them take you on a voyage to another
Let them take you on a voyage to another
Let them take you on a voyage to another...
Water falling down a hundred meters
Coloured by the sun

As I was saying, stereo is full of surprises
A new stereophonic sound spectacular

We're able to tell, in an instant, where a particular sound is coming from

As you already know I am a fan of the spoken word accents/effects in prog rock, art rock, techno-ambient, etc. This one kills the buzz.
Great song except the voices at the end > ruins the "feeling". I wish I could edit them out and stretch the ambient instrumental ending.

I believe they did all that deliberately; it's often part of the genre - staying in a groove. Obviously, it's not for everyone.
Don't care much for songs that are mostly electronic or repetitive. This has both! Then at the ending there is the repeated phrase as well. Put it all together and I can't give this more than 6. Well maybe 5.

Yes, there are definite hints of Massive Attack in the swirling background electronics. Very nice!

Awesome song, always loved that guitar reverbed all to hell. And my 8 rating just brought the average rating up to 7!
One of my favourite Hooverphonic-songs. Fans should order the "Hoovephonic with Orchestra Live" CD + DVD-combo. Only available for a limited time. Check Amazon or Ebay.

I often seem to think, "There's an enjoyable song playing on RP, I wonder what it is?" and find out that it is by Hooverphonic. What are their best CDs if I wanted to go out and purchase one or two (I guess I am showing my age by writing this; at least I didn't say albums!)?

st etienne meets massive attack?

Listening to SOMA FM's "Groove Salad" program a good bit, I guess I am used to such noises and voices interjected in songs - electronic, down-tempo chill, etc. S'OK with me, but coulda been left out and this song wouldn't have suffered.
OMG! I love SOMA's Groove Salad — been ages since I've tuned into that. They do have this genre nailed down. Great songs / bands I've discovered on there. Chill is my fave.

I always enjoy their stuff! And you suggest, derek, that they are similar to Massive Attack?? I will check it out and see.
Very much in the Massive Attack vain.

"Blue Wonder Power Milk" is excellent. I think you can still sample the tunes on Amazon to check it out.

Maybe it's cheating to get a best-of, but their "Singles" compilation is a stunner. Not a weak track on it.

Yes, that's a problem with some other songs on the album too, an overuse of voice samples.

it made me turn it UP, just so i could hear the "sound waves" but hey, I'm in the office trying to keep a low profile! but i gotta agree with the wolfman/woman..........the voices at the end, bring it down a notch 7 8

okay Bill, thanks ...my ears have almost recovered from the nasty jazz-attack earlier. I don't need to be dead, though! (hey, you can't please all of the people all of the time, can you)?
I'd like this song better if they hadn't filtered out every frequency below 200Hz. The bass drum sounds so hollow.

Below is my favorite Hooverphonic song. It goes out to the girl I pined over for six years, and lost when I told her how I felt in Central Park...
Thank God i found someone so wonderful now.
Out of Sight:
Tell me why
Do you always forgive the things I do to you
You're too good
Or am I not too bad
Those six years
Were the best that ever happened to me and you
No regrets after all this fear
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
So tell me why
I can't find any satisfaction somewhere else
Not good enough
Or am I way too bad
Cause those six years
I consumed all your energy
And I didn't replace
Sad enough
I can't give you what you need
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
Six years
Such a long time
I can't give you what you need
Six years
Such a long time
Something special between you and me
You and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me
We'll always be best friends
Something between you and me

I digs me some Hooverphonic. She taught my heart how to love.
Digging on the long string of killer subterranean bass-lines here, Bill!
I'd like to hear some Golden Palominos about now, come to think of it...
so do I ...but at home !
I could spend the next 3 weeks at the office with this one.
a definite 10.

Well, I can explain one of 'em--it's way way way way way (repeat, ad nauseum) too repetitive.

It maybe 0212 in California, but it's 5:12 pm here in Perth and chilling out to this fits just the same regardless of the time of day... maybe I should get up at 0200 West Aussie time and check out what's playing on RP! ... nice one ....

OUTSTANBULICOUS AND CONFABULISTIC!! When it comes to Hoover, I am sold on Phonic!! :nodhead: Dig da Big H!
Same old monotonous drivel just repeated over and over! Rather listen to a Hoover upright! At least it accomplishes something.
Great stuff. I bought Blue Wonder Power Milk a few months ago on the strength of the track Club Montepulciano, which I first heard on RP. Now it looks as though I'll have to buy this album as well!
Mmmm, tasty. I hope this is leading off a set that includes something I haven't heard before and must go out and learn more about :)

I can't believe you've been playing this and I missed it! I'm sitting at work, streaming as per usual, trying to get my linear algebra done before class starts, and here Inhaler comes on and I have to comment cause Hooverphonic is such a hot group. Yay!
Cool Song!
Great beat and you can dance to it, I give it an 8...=)
Love this track, the opening to their best album. :D
They lost me at about the 3rd \"A new stereophonic sound spectacular\"
i heart hooverphonic. :)
Cool to see a Belgium group in the playlist :)
resistance is futile
Now I know that Bill is magic - I just transferred back to RadioParadise from somafm and got this song. Now that\'s a segue!
I agree - this is their first and (so far) greatest album.
This is from my favorite album of theirs.
Cool, one of my uploads! :D
