Watching terrible TV, it kills all thought
Getting spacier than an astronaut
Making out with people I hardly know or like
I can't believe what I do late at night

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

Only when we get to see the aerial view
Will the patterns show, we'll know what to do
I know the last page so well, I can't read the first
So I just don't start, it's getting worse

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I can't find my way in
I try again and again

I'm on the outside of love
Always under or above
I can't find my way in
I try again and again

I'm on the outside of love
Always under or above
Must be a different view
To be a me with a you

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
I'm standing at the gates
I see the beauty above

I wanna know what it's like
On the inside of love
Of course I'll be alright
I just had a bad night
I had a bad night

Poor, poor guy. All the sex he wants, but no love. Such a common problem. I always hear guys complaining about this. It certainly is a problem that we guys can empathize with. So guys, you know what song to play when she starts saying, "you always just want to cuddle and talk about our relationship! You never want to get hot and heavy with me!" for the thousandth time...
Does anyone else remember Nada Surf from their classic, "I'm Popular?" I love that song, and I kinda dig this one, but I can't believe it's the same artist... "Wash your hair every two weeks, once every two weeks. . . And if you see Johnny Football Hero in the hall, tell him he played a great game. Tell him you liked his article in the school newspaper!!!!"
I saw these guys last week in Grand Rapids, MI, and was pleasantly surprised. Bought their cd afterwards and really liked it. Just because it isn't the most original doesn't make it bad. Kind of a cross between ColdPlay and Semisonic. Try playing "Happy Kid". It sounds real good loud.

I find myself kinda liking this even though it's a clear ripoff of Coldplay.

Thanks for the tip...I've been admiring this song for the last 4 months and wanting to get the CD, but just never got around to it! I like the lyrics, too.
It seems like the first time I heard this song was on Queer As Folk. Can anyone else confirm that? It's driving me crazy. Thanks in advance :)
NO, no, no, no, please no.
This is one of the best songs (and the slowest one) on a really good record. I got to know Nada with their Teenage Guide To Popularity, and it turned out that the music they really made was rather different :-)
The band name would be much more appropriate if they dropped the \"Surf.\"

Zzzzzzzz
Sounds just like Coldplay...

I have now truly grown to LOVE this song.
come on nada - stop trying to be coldplay! but still a good song.
Really like this one.
Saw these guys live last Friday in Lawrence, KS. At the Bottleneck. Great show. Lots of energy. (pimp)

oops. very unhappy to learn that MTV2 cancelled the program! Out of 168 hours of weekly programming, they couldn't let these two hours continue? grrrrr
I find myself loving this song the more I hear it.... \"making out with people I hardly know...\" Just love that line.
ridiculous, treacly, sappy... why do i like this so much? i should hate it. oh well...
I prefer the first album \"High and Low\" Please, play \"Zen Brain\" :) (pimp)

beautiful song. i might have to go buy their album.
Does anyone else think Coldplay?
Has a bit of a \"Jump Little Children\" feel to it.
They've come a long way.
Now "Popular" may have been a gimmick, but it wasn't a *bad* song. Or maybe it's just my own mid-90s teen angst attaching to that song. Definetely never would have pegged this as the same band though.
Hard to believe this is the same group that did that \"Popular\" song about ten years ago. Remember that one? \"I\'m the quarterback. . . I\'m popular. . . my mom says I\'m a catch. . .\" They\'ve come a long way.
