Hey
Disorder in the house
The tub runneth over
Plaster's falling down in pieces by the couch of pain
Disorder in the house
Time to duck and cover
Helicopters hover over rough terrain
Disorder in the house
Reptile wisdom
Zombies on the lawn staggering around
Disorder in the house
There's a flaw in the system
And the fly in the ointment's gonna bring the whole thing down
The floodgates are open
We've let the demons loose
The big guns have spoken
And we've fallen for the ruse
Disorder in the house
It's a fate worse than fame
Even the Lhasa Apso seems to be ashamed
''(You might wanna handle that one yourself)''
Disorder in the house
The doors are coming off the hinges
The earth will open and swallow up the real estate
I just got my paycheck
I'm gonna paint the whole town gray
Whether it's a night in Paris
Or a Fresno matinee
It's the home of the brave
And the land of the free
Where the less you know
The better off you'll be
Cut it
Wooh
Disorder in the house
All bets are off
I'm sprawled across the davenport of despair
Disorder in the house
I'll live with the losses
And watch the sundown through the portiere
Here we go
Alright
Huh, end this thing with style

Does anyone else interpret this song as commentary on the current state of the U.S. and the world as it relates to the U.S. rather than on personal wasting?
this tune just doesn't quite do it for me. I love bad singing, generally speaking, but for some reason I can't get into it with this tune. Also, it's a little too basic and it doesn't really have enough soul to support the weak performance. But not unlistenable
Hey Bill how about you give Zevon a rest for a while..??

a person who can't sing, backing up another person who can't sing... whats worse, is the backup is trying to mimic the lead, thus making his voice even worse... this is by far some of the worst vocals i have ever heard.
of course, i finally realize why "werewolves of london" was so popular... only song where waren zevon's voice matched the pacing of the music.
Funny! Actually Bob Dylan's vocals are far worse.
i love his thought about enjoying every sandwich, and i try to think about that as often as possible, but i can't enjoy my sandwich while listening to this song.

Sounds like Springsteen is the one dying.
How to live. How to die! Yeah!
Very raw and urgent. I like it. Just got the album today, and it\'s a bittersweet work.
I just don\'t get this. I mean, the song itself was ok, but the vocals are just terrible.
Warren's last album....Bye see you next time..thanks for the beat and the humor
Warren is a taste i haven't yet acquired :?
Thanks for the info Skindy.
(Looks at the playlists) Why are the last 5 songs I missed always better than the current ones?
Never heard this before. At first I thought it was actually a Keith Richards song with the rough voice and sloppy guitar.
Great song! Bill, thanks for the ongoing updates on Warren Zevon's illness, and for playing his material in the last several months. Prompted by Bill's info, I did a bit of digging and found that Zevon recorded this album after his lung cancer diagnosis, to "writ and record as many songs as possible in the weeks that lie ahead."
Here's a link to a press release on Zevon and his diagnosis, on the Artemis Records web site:

Awright!! Wonderful on first hearing. Springsteen contributes some great guitar work (and background vocals), but it\'s still Warren\'s show. Can\'t wait until next Tuesday\'s release date.
not so good
