You're a bottle-cap away, from pushing me too far
Well the problem's getting big and its a compact car
So I won't feel so bad, I did all I could do
Now I'm on wounded knee and we're at waterloo
So Please get out, of my car
::Chorus::
I was born in the backseat of a mustang
On a cold night in a hard rain
And the very first song that the radio sang
Was 'I Won't Be Home No More.'
You're a rattle-trap tonight, my ears are getting tired
So listen for awhile, before this thing expired
It was bound to fail because of where I'm from
Now the moon's at four o'clock and It's high time kingdome come
So please get out, of my car
::Repeat Chorus 2x's::
I'm pulling off the road, I'm opening the door
I'm giving you the pavement, I'm telling you what for
You're no more than a thought
And you're getting smaller in my rearview mirror
Yeah, you're getting smaller in my rearview mirror
Yeah, you're getting smaller
::Repeat Chorus until it fades::

Drag it Up and Too Far to Care are also great
*Tips hat to Zevon*
*shakes head* Zevon told YOU about Old 97s?
=========
I heard a hiccup about 10-15 seconds into this song. Anyone else, or was it just me?

Perhaps you would prefer something more elegant, like "Gloomy Sunday" by Heather Nova. Go request it right now!
*Gloomy Sunday snarking bump*
thanks a bunch for playing this sassy tune ;-)
This song is fantastic. The album is amazing. The band is phenomenal. And all sorts of other happy adjectives.

I'm diggin this tune everytime I hear it. Heard a lot about Old 97's but I've ever looked into them much. Any recommendations on where to start?

much better the second time around.

These guys are incredible live. I don't know how the drummer continues to play without his arms falling off. So much energy.
Energy is the word I always use when describing their perfomance. After a break, the lead singer (Rett Miller) came on stage by himself with just an acoustic guitar. I thought he was going to slow it down some, but I was way off. I never saw anyone rock so hard with just an acoustic gutiar!

I agree--Wreck your Life is my favorite too...although you really can't go wrong with any of them...except for Satellite Rides
now I'll duck for cover...
I'll cast my vote for Wreck Your Life too.

why is this song getting so much air play?
please bill find a replacement!!
Please Bill, don't apply this kind of logic to "Gloomy Sunday" by Heather Nova. It's killer, and must be played constantly. Daily. Hourly. Right now!
Yeah, Too Far to Care REALLY starts with a bang. You'll love it!

Yeah, not necessarily my favored style, but these guys are solid rockers.

I'd start with "Too Far to Care". I guess it's only fair to warn you - be ready because it starts with a bang!

Great song by a great group. Now we just need some Drive-By Truckers...

I'm just sad I didn't get formally introduced to them until recently. I love it!
If they have a bad album, I haven't heard it. (thx Z ;) )
How is the rest of the album?
I dig this.

That settles it--belongs in my collection. For once, the hype is deserved.
Rockalicious.

WooHoo! Highlight of my day, Old 97s on RP. Stupid I-tunes doesn't have this album. No one in Italy carries it. Amazing live, great albums, one of my favorite bands. How John Mayer sells albums and Rhett didn't I will NEVER understand

Awesome! I love the Old 97's... keep it comin'! Although I think the proper song title is "Won't Be Home No More". (Now that's just nitpicking, isn't it?)
