I can see a long way down
Heaven had the time to grow
Heaven had the time to grow
Now the fire's burned down low
Lying in the afterglow
Living in your afterglow
I can make it right for you
Even if you had to go
Even if you had to go
I can walk away from you
Only if you want me to
Tell me that you want me to
Even if you had to run
Even if you had to run
Heaven had the time to grow

Now the fire's burned down low
Lying in the afterglow
Living in your afterglow
I can make it right for you

remind me of Porcupine Tree
Supergrass really turned out some exceptional stuff - I wonder if they would have garnered more serious critical acclaim if the video for Alright had been done differently.

A lot of great songs sound a little like Pink Floyd.

Hearing some Zero 7 "Spinning" in the first half.

I keep checking to see if this song is over so I can un-mute the station.

I thought this sounded a lot like early Pink Floyd (pre-Dark Side). Very very impressive. This group keeps surprising me, I am going to have to pick up some of their music.

This would be great back-to-back with some Porcupine Tree/Steve Wilson/Blackfield... just sayin'
In this song they are PF/Genesis wannabes in a nice way.
Because the world is round . . .

Oddly reminds me of Bojack Horseman induced ennui.

Beautiful track from a superlative band.

Fantastic! Anyone could suggest more great-outro songs? By great outro I mean that it might just go on and on... My list so far:
Pink Floyd - A Saucerful of Secrets / Celestial Voices.
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Sir Psycho Sexy (outro).
This one fits well, so: Supergrass - Run

It's like "how much more Floyd could this be?" and the answer is "none - none more Floyd".

An amazing song!

I like this track, but it reminds me of the Beatles. That's not a bad thing, though... Mostly, a bit of Lennon's "#9 Dream" with a touch of Bowie's "Space Oddity."
Okay - I need more alcohol. Or maybe less manual dexterity and a keyboard that doesn't work (thank you, party who shall remain nameless, for unselfishly sending me the most awesome keyboard evah! Oh, what the heck. Thanks, monkeysdad. You rock.)

That was really cool, subliminal and most excellent!
Supergrass...I heard that's real popular in Colorado,

This was such a terrific band—inventiveness, humor, master craftsmanship, the whole magilla. One hopes that Gaz Coombes emerges from Supergrass like Albarn did from blur, with a sustained burst of creativity, novel exploration, music to confound and delight us all.
There's a Sesame Street song trying to break out of this.
One two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven twelve!

I didn't think, "Beatles", I thought maybe Pink Floyd, or Legendary Pink Dots.
This is much better than most ELP.
Well, I love it.
I think they borrow as much from T-Rex as the Beatles.

SG at their most beatleish. Nice.
Nope, not having it.
A lukewarm, lazy ripoff.
Seriously, this is pissing me off.

...this surprises me...
if they made versions (covers) would be more still acceptable - 4.
Sweet how they channel John's Number 9 Dream
Yeah
Beatles meets up with Pink Floyd and smokes.. supergrass!

"...their everything-old-is-new-again aesthetic can be heard in such albums as the Strokes' Is This It?). But, as this glorious record proves, there are few bands around these days who are as flat-out enjoyable as this trio. The world is a better place for having Supergrass in it." (Quote from allmusic.com review.)
nice, but not new...
Boy, did that sound a LOT like 10 cc in the opening . . .
and for quite a while after.
The end sounds like something The Joker would have playing in the background at his lair...
Give Road to Rouen a listen to......it's a great album by Supergrass. BTW...they are excellent live.

Seems forced and uninspired to me = 2.
Neil
What's that on RP, an obscure John Lennon track?
Nope, just Supergrass again. This time sounding like a former member of the Beatles, instead of a former member of Fleetwood Mac.
Good music though.
Here comes the Sun King
Here comes the Sun King
Everybody's happy,
everybody's laughing.
or in my case...
All you need is love.
I'm sure I'm the 999th person to think: this intro..... so Beatles...
I dig!
not bad. would have to hear the entire album for a truer assesment.
Agree, like Air.
Another good Supergrass song, having followed them from the very beginning. It does sound a little like 'Air' though, which is no bad thing at all!
Hrm, in reading everyone else's comments I guess my verdict is that I am just in a grouchy mood today, and that this song is not really obnoxious! I'll listen carefully to it next time, I promise. ;)
"Thank you, we're Supergrass!"
And Then the Rock Out Continues

It's a really good one. I got to see them open up for Radiohead in support of this album--they are a great live band, too.
not bad at all, good effort
PLEASE, someone tell me...... are the other songs on this album like this one? I want it....
