If you see it my way
Time on my side
As well as my mind is
It's not with you for sure
No, not anymore
I intend to stay away for good
Just a matter how I define
My state of mind
Today is a good day
Today is a good day
Without your company
I have so many holes to fill
At least seven nights a week
Killing time
I still feel fine, I guess
My life was a mess
When i shared it with you
I was lonely
Now, I'm just alone
(Just a matter how I define)
(Just a matter how I define)
Just a matter how i define
My state of mind
Today is a good day
Just a scratch on my ego
I get up in the morning
If we could plan tomorrow
I'll be keeping my mind cold
Until the evening
When the hours forget me
And the waiting awakes me
And the voices of madness
From my subconscious
Just singing songs of sadness
Today is a good day
Today is a good day
Oh such a good day
Today is such a good day
Such a good day
Today is a good day
.. and ?
("You Mean Nothing to Me, Anymore" is out of league to any song on this planet)
I do, I do!!
The video didn't help me too much... It's a teenage boy(?) pulling a cart with all sorts of equipment around an abandoned town... camping out, looking generally miserable. If it has a note of "its gonna get better" (which I do hear), it also doesn't soft pedal the pain. That being said, its the hope in the midst of darkness that, while so hard to convey, she does well (and I think that's what you might be describing).
By the way... this whole album is great. Definitely recommended if anyone is wondering if it'd be worth a buy.

Hang with some Scandanavians and you will eventually understand. People do indeed count small blessings. Can you imagine why Leonard Cohen is so popular?

my life was a mess,
when i shared it with you I was lonely.
Now i'm just alone
When i first heard this, I heard it as despair for a wrong decision. The fourth time in a row I heard it, I decided it was the first step in a recovery. Either way its a very very poignant line.
In an international "spot the meat pie" competition, I would have this woman pegged for Swedish from 100 metres!

No, but it does sound like Ivy.
i prefer just the acoustic part....not the whole band. Gives her more identity of self without the band.
No, but it does sound like Ivy.
But she needs a bra.

"Today is a Good Day" is track number 3 of album Separation Road (September 27, 2006). I particularly like and highlight here the version (Live) Musikjournalen Live (2006-09-13)
