I feel like a king
It feels like I'm dreaming
When that blood goes rattling through my veins
My ears start to ring
I notice what matters
And I got nothing to lose but darkness and shadows
Got nothing to lose but bitterness and patterns
When I can't find the way to reach you my love
I'm just not the same
Just the same
When I know you're watching out for me
I know what I'm knowing
I can see what matters
And I got nothing to lose but darkness and shadows
Got nothing to lose but emptiness and hang-ups
Oooo
Oh, when I know you're watching out for me
I look for what matters
And I notice what matters
And I got nothing to lose but darkness and shadows
Got nothing to lose but loneliness and patterns
The flowers blooming, the trains collide
Ahhh
I don't got a thing to lose
<edit, 2 mins later> And now I see that my "new" band was formed 25 years ago. Oh, the years just keep rolling by ....
Some of us just can't get past a voice that is worse than Bob Dylan's... Imagine what they'd be if someone could sing!
I love the voice. Unique!

I just recently realized that I've _really_ liked pretty much every Spoon song I've heard. My appreciation for them has definitely grown.
Play something different.
....Billy Joel?
Anybody else hear "25 or 6 to 4" as it starts out? Hmmm, I imagine many Spooners would not have a clue what that question means, but perhaps some of y'all who were around when the whole world was watching.
Different riff, different chords; it's played at roughly the same tempo with similar phrasing. Was it intentional? Possibly.

pure poetry inasmuch as the Sex Pistols wrote pure poetry - of our times....for a love song I like that it's gritty (although he's singing about Brothers, is it a love song?)
Agreed.
Spoon performs "Got Nuffin", from their latest album "Transference", live at KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on 01.20.10.
Seh... the opening track on Chicago IX - the very first album I ever bought for myself, age 12, at the original Tower Records, here in Sacramento, no less. I can hear that riff now that you mention it. Thanks for the memories.
(And trash-talk Terry Kath only at your peril...)
Yep....sure do. And Terry Kath was a guitar god, btw. Early Chicago Rocks!
Sorry that was me... if I move my 3 to a 2 does that help?
An eight for me.

Good call

Spoon is an American indie rock band from Austin, Texas with a wide following of fans of both underground music and popular music. The band is led by Britt Daniel (vocals, guitar); Jim Eno (drums); Rob Pope (bass) and Eric Harvey (keyboard, guitar, percussion, backing vocals).
Why I love them - Spoon brings a unique indie style to their music that I find undeniable. Spoon is definitely one of my favorite ipod bands - bands that I love to walk around campus to. My favorites are the albums Gimme Fiction, Kill the Moonlight, and GaGaGaGaGa. wnick87

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
They do rock. Spoonerific!
I completely agree
boring, repetitive, lacks hooks, melody
like hitting my head against a wall
what's the point ?

I was hoping to live the rest of my life without even a vague reminder of that.
Busted! It's a fair cop, I am guilty as charged. There's nuffin I can do except shuffle off into the darkness and shadows with my tail between my legs.....

After this comment, you made three more. So much for nuffin to say.
Agreed, this is the most elementary and boring bass riff I've ever heard. Monotonous and brain dead!

UPDATE: Well, duh - it says "Released 2010"
Reminds me of "The Tick" and his superhero rallying cry.
Which was, of course, Spoon!
So stoked to see this here. Thought i was the only one to be struggling to appreciate what i accept sounds like a pretty good track because i'm thinking about the Tick shouting "Spoon" while Arthur uses his battle cry "Not in the face".
I'll get me coat...
