Follow me down through the cotton fields
Moon shadow shine bright the way you will
Lead us down a road where no one goes
We can run away
Come take my hand while I'm waiting here
Get away from it all and find what's real
If we don't get out now the chance won't reappear
We can run away
Hold me tight and don't let go
Sweet and soft no one will know
We can run away
I buried my heart in a willow tree
You came along, gave it back to me
Now we're creatures of the night,
We set each other free
Run away with me
Hold me tight and don't let go
Sweet and soft no one will know
We can run away
Lay with me down by the riverside
Stars in the sky shining in your eyes
We won't make a sound no one will be around
We can run away
Hold me tight and don't let go
Sweet and soft no one will know
We can run away
We can run away
We can run away
Moon shadow shine bright the way you will
Lead us down a road where no one goes
We can run away
Come take my hand while I'm waiting here
Get away from it all and find what's real

Already a legend on the crowded Austin music scene, followers have known for years about her extraordinary gifts: piercing lyrics, impeccable voice, and ability to pick just about every stringed instrument there is. A mainstay of Chris Thile's show, Live from Here, a quick YouTube search will yield some fabulous performances. The trio of Jarosz, Aoife O'Donovan, and Sara Watkins form the trio I'm With Her, and can those three blend their exquisite voices!

I've discovered Sarah Jarosz here on RP about a year ago. Bought all her albums since and when COVID is over I'll be looking for her concert listings near me.
She is one of my many RP discoveries.

More Sarah Jarosz, please!! I discovered her a couple years ago and caught a show in Fall River, Mass. Awesome!
work stopped, volume up, just enjoying a great song and wondering how I haven't heard of Sarah before? Love it!

When Sarah Jarosz gets out of music school, she'll still be writing and performing great songs.

There's a sensual ominousness to this sound. Getting away with romance.

I was introduced to her by The Transatlantic Sessions where she sang and played beautifully. She's clearly amazingly talented.
Have been following this brilliant talent since '09 when she was, what? 17, 18? Heard her first here on RP, when I was first turned on to RP. Have seen her several times - unforgettable.
Ain't life grand.

Certainly makes a convincing argument.
Only 22, with a brilliant career ahead of her. She plays here in Austin all the time. A rare and beautiful voice, and she's a picker, too.
For what it's worth, Paul Krugman is a major fan and posted several videos in a recent blog in the NYT. In fact, either he listens to RP, or this station is tapping into a good musical current that is also appreciated by others (likely the case). He has also posted other links to musicians who are played here and not much elsewhere. (I must acknowledge that I avoid most other "radio" anyway).

ha....not in Texas....she def. pronounces it with a hard J....I know because she and her family are my neighbors and she graduated with my son in 2009 from Wimberley Highschool....

Thanks, Randomax, for putting this into geographical perspective. I can certainly hear the Texas in it now.

She was on Prairie Home Companion last year and that's how they pronounced it on the show. I would have thought "YA-rose" (with a soft S, not like the flower), which would be the Hungarian pronunciation as far as I know. The "sz" is a typical Hungarian spelling, indicating the soft s sound.

Ahh, one of those fantastic voices that seems instantly familiar and yet excitingly new...I have always liked this, and now even more...Cool!
..that cover makes me think she has a splitting headache..she sings a solid 8(!), too..
This is why I give RP my $ - I get great music all the time & new artists and no commercials. It's terrific! And I'm delighted to learn of Sarah Jarosz.

Likewise I had to get out of the bath to find the artist.. much to the enjoyment of Bill no doubt °º©1©º° saw her at the Targhee Bluegrass Festival this summer- hearing her here on RP was a part of the impetus to go. After her band played, she joined David Grisman and company. Magical forest venue with the Grand Tetons as backdrop, the wonderful vibe of the crowd of all ages, most attendees camping in the meadow for the three day event... one of the best summertime outdoor music festivals...

Bill pronounced her surname as "Ger-rose", a slight surprise to me as I'd expected "Ya-rosh". Is "Ger-rose" how she pronounces her name, anyone know?

However it's pronounced, she's a fine singer going by this and other songs played on RP. As a poster remarked below, a talent to watch. 8 from the entranced Nottingham jury .
I like this song more every time I hear it.
Great - very meditative...
I was driving to Austin the other day and was listening to a broadcast from the Old Settlers Park Music Festival, and they had an interview and performance with her where she did this song very well. Turns out she has been coming to the festival since 2002, when she entered their youth talent competition which was open to performers under age 18. She was 10 at the time. And won.
Given all that, she is still dedicated to her school training and the exposure to other elements it brings, not content to be pigeon-holed as a bluegrass or even a country artist. I look forward to much more incredible music from her, especially as she does not yet seemed destined for burnout. Just keeps getting better.

This young woman is gifted beyond measure. Was mesmerized when I first saw her at Grey Fox 2010.

First time that I have heard Sarah — very nice and thanks!
Pretty remarkable songwriting, there. Not to mention performing.
The chorus reminds me a bit of the Wailin' Jennies.
Saw her last night at the Melting Point in Athens, GA.
Amazing show. She is AWESOME. The trio, with Nathaniel Smith and Alex Hargreaves in unbelievable ! If you have the chance, do NOT miss them.

Love this! Sarah reminds me of a couple great voices - a little Alison Krauss and a little Mindy Smith. She has that great slightly nasal quality that Mindy Smith has that adds a lot of emotion.
I heard this here yesterday, and I think I like it even more today. 9.
check her out on music fog........www.musicfog.com - a great website with new artists daily!

She's the real deal. Her Transatlantic Sessions with Allison Krause, Jerry Douglas and Aly Bain are fantastic.
Its songs like this is why I LOVE RP. Never heard of Sarah until a couple of minutes ago.......beautiful way to start the day

I do like the song, though.

Just amazing.
Watch her on BBC's Transatlantic sessions.....scary. What is she going to be like in even five years? This is a talent worth watching.

Not many of us at the age of Sarah Jarosz and your son know what to do with our lives. Lucky for us, she does.
