I can only say these things to you while you're sleeping
I hear the hum from the wires, the sounds of the morning creeping
I lie awake and pretend you can hear me

You tell me that you're scared that you're turning into your mother
I feel myself turning into my father
We could lie to each other like they do and say we're so happy
It's easy when you're young and you still want it so badly

And I feel my heart pounding
And I think I might scream...

I can tell you that you're all I've ever wanted, dear
I can utter every word you've ever hoped to hear
I shudder when I think that I might not be here forever, forever, forever

In the night you whisper like a ghost and you look so shaken
You're so quiet and small and you tell me you want to be taken
I just never think of you as the kind of girl who would say that
And you suddenly seem like some faceless thing in my grasp

Your eyes alight, your face aglow
It's the face of someone I don't know

I can tell that you're all I've ever wanted, dear
I can utter every word you've ever hoped to hear
I shudder when I think I might not be here forever, forever, forever

And all I can think is that it must be a kind of rebellion
To arm your fears like soldiers and slay them

I can tell that you're all I've ever wanted, dear
Through the din while you're breathing, while you're sleeping here
You wake and you ask me if I'm gonna be here forever, forever, forever

Your face so twisted and your eyes alight
I want to tell you I can change you when you cry at night
But I'd be lying
Love is defying

Definitely +1 for a cool band name.

Agreed. Kept waiting for this track to wake up and it never does.

Like the use of the strings
Said it before but you should really, really read Mikel Jollet's auto biography Hollywood Park.   It explains so much about the music.  Better yet, listen to the audio book where the music from Hollywood Park album is incorporated.

See where you're coming from, but these guys don't have the great harmonies that Republic Tigers do, and (based on their stuff here on RP) only write miserable songs. For me it's gone past dramatic to melodramatic...

Yes, primarily angst and melodrama. Still really good.
meh filler.
Digging it. Different. Passionate. No slacker poppers here.

yes, it fits nicely with your username. . .

:D
Considering how difficult it must be to come up with an original band name these days, these guys have pulled one out brilliantly, imho. Like the song.. echos of Moody Blues in there...

A let down after their first single. That one about after midnight.

They're only making plans for Nigel.
Giving a bump of this cut's previous 7 to an 8. It's an almost-on-my-pod tune. The band, tho, might have chosen another name.
Impressive! {#Music} Digging the production behind it all, and most of all I like a musician that can write a cold ending! {#Cheers}

Hmm, a lot of music thrown at you. I don't expect subtlety from this band, but still not sure if I like it. Will refrain from rating for now.
Well, I liked it.
Don't like the delivery.  Almost sounds like a song from a play or made for TV movie or something.
Horribly annoying. Totally disolved all the goodness I was feeling from the preceding Bonobo song.

Loved the last album, but this one just doesn't do it for me.
Hate it

Yes, I believe it is.

Will see them live in a couple of days in Berlin.

Looking forward to it - have seen them before when they were touring in support of their first album.

Very good vibes. {#Dance}

Ear therapy
Hey, I can't blame the National for not wanting to be on Gossip Girl.

Don't really see the similarity. Decent song, though I definitely prefer The National.

I like the sound of the previous album better.
